RE: Forbes Contract
Aside from the Power 5 conferences, I wouldn't rule him out of taking a job at a Big East or AAC school if approached, what with each of those conferences having multiple schools that have either won the NCAA outright, most recently Villanova and Connecticut, and several other teams that have made the Final Four, or in the case of Butler, being NCAA runnerup twice in the last decade. If he goes to any of the smaller multibid conferences, I'd say it would probably depend on the specific school in question.

RE: Forbes Contract
It’s been really hard figuring out what these other coaches are making. I thought it would be a lot easier, but you get different numbers from different sources. As far as I can tell though, Forbes is well paid compared to other non-Power 5’s, with the exception of a few that were just mentioned.

Anybody know what he was doing in Chapel Hill? Passing through on his way to interview at ECU maybe?

I highly doubt he'd interview at ECU. He might have been in Chapel Hill because the NC 1A STATE championship was in Raleigh yesterday where Davien Williamson was playing. BTW Winston Salem prep won and Williamson was named MVP.

I'm not sure about other teams at ECU, but despite being in one of the two best conferences outside the traditional Power 5(in terms of basketball success), their men's team hasn't done much of anything. Forbes would also have to compete against the likes of Connecticut, Wichita State, and Cincinnati within the conference.

How about we keep Forbes and move to the AAC? Can you imagine those types teams coming to freedom hall regularly! Oh well back to reality.

I'm all for that! The sad fact is if we could have replaced the Stanton/Mullins combo with Noland/Sander about 20 years ago we may very well already be in the AAC, A-10 or the like.

Two winning seasons in the last 20 years. Not exactly a basketball oasis. They can’t compete in both football and basketball in the AAC. So, basketball gets the proverbial shuffled to the back burner.

I think the issue with a move to that conference wouldn't be basketball related so much as football related. The football team can't even break even against FCS and lower level teams yet. A move to an FBS conference, be it Power 5 or Group of 5, isn't going to happen anytime soon, not in the next decade or so at least.
