Just like you not happy with the end product and it is not just a talent issue. There is a disconnect somewhere because these kids don't work hard on defense all the time.

anyone that thinks the program is on the right path is stupid or is not a a Tiger fan.

The trajectory of the program is how Tubby (or any coach ) should be judged, Tubby should be fired not as punishment for having a bad year--- not even for making stupid statements. Tubby should be fired because everybody with a brain knows that he will not succeed here unless something drastically changes. If Tubby hires Penny as an Asst Coach and we get a top 10/20 class then he deserves consideration for another year =----- otherwise you are waiting a year or two to fire him and losing fans..... fans that may never some back

He's not getting fired. You can make all the noise and complain all you want, he'll be here next year, and probably the year after that.

We'll be an above average AAC team next year and the pundits will laud the amazing rebuilding job Tubby has done.

My hopes for the team are as follows:

That Jamal continues to improve. I thought he did a much better job attacking the basket at the end of the year.

Nickelberry toughs it out, locks himself in the gym and develops a jump shot.

JMart comes back just as strong.

Vanover is serviceable and gives us a few minutes.

Jones is actually a 4 star as some have indicated, and not a 0 star as others have indicated.

Tyler Harris commits.

Alternatively, we find a grad transfer type PG to take some of the pressure off JMart.

4 years ago: “The S16 is the measuring stick for Memphis! Get there or get out!”...and I agree

After 2 years of the Tub: “Hey, were not 9th in conference! We got 5th! Yay?” “We may get an NIT birth”. “Did you hear about the recruit we beat Wofford out on? I hear one recruiting service has him rated as a 4 Star!”

I give him credit on getting a solid recruit in all seriousness. I still don’t believe he’s the right coach for us

You can talk about standards, but you should probably get a grip on history first.

If we're talking about history, 4 out of 5 of those years are among the worst, this last one among the very worst if not the worst, Memphis teams of the modern era and have gotten one coach "fired," and are about to do the same for a second.

Tubby's chances of being the coach in 2019-2020 are probably 1%. He'll have to make the tournament to keep his job, and I just don't see that happening.

The kids on the court played their hearts out. Nothing but respect for them. But minus 2 or 3 of the players, they aren't high major players and should be playing at a lower level.

I know you and the handful of sheeple believed this to be true for a little while. If you still believe this you have completely lost touch with reality.

Heck I will give him better odds 10 to his $500...Surely he would think that is a good investment.

Honestly, I hope I'm wrong, I think a fresh start is in order, but I'm a realist.

I have common sense as do 99% of the fanbase. The sheeple are a tiny group of fans (Atlanta, tigx, a couple of other "winners") who have no common sense, who will defend Tubby no matter what, even though there is no reason to defend him.

As long as people (like they typically do) have unrealistic expectations of the kid.

I would be willing to bet he isn't more than a 4 and 2 guy next year. Outside of the inconsistency in his recruiting profile, Memphis will be returning all 80 minutes (and then some) at the guard spots next year. It will be pretty hard to supplant two seniors and a (relatively) similarly rated sophomore who logged big minutes as a frosh and was clearly a favorite of Tubby.

I agree with you here.

RE: Goalposts, picked 9th, finished 5th...
We're also very fortunate to finish 5th. We caught SMU late when they were banged up. Also, we only had to play Wichita St and Houson once each, and got to face USF and ECU twice...even though that didn't work out so well.

Finishing 5th when picked 9th looks good at face value, but the margin between 5th and 9th is slim, and the distance between 5th and 3rd is a long ways. We're paying Tubby top 10 money, and we finsih 5th in a 3 bid league and are miles away from competing for a conference championship/sniffing the tournament bubble.

Who picked us 9th? Sports Writers

Who says we overachieved? Sports Writers

Any questions?
