RE: Porter - Player of the Week
They seem to be great at 3/4 length of the court shots, all I know.

What? Last I looked, the leader was, believe it or not, W&M's Connor Burchfield.

Burchfield is the best shooter in the nation. Some clown on here laughed when I said it around the time we played them.

Some other clown said that it was a fluke that W&M shot as well as they did against us.

Whoever said that was right.

Idk. Seems pretty logical to think that a team that shoots the three well against a team that defends the three poorly would result in the team shooting pretty well. Add in the fact that we really defend bigs shooting the 3 poorly, and nothing that happened there was particularly surprising. We are a better team now, so I would not expect it to happen now, but at the time, nothing about that was surprising aside from the half court shot.

They had an effective FG% of 74%...which is probably the best rate they had the entire season (I haven't went through and looked).

I would venture to guess it was one of the best shooting performances from any team over the course of the entire season. Hitting 15-25 vs. anyone; guarded or not; is unsustainable.

That was exactly my reaction! "Oh, nooo. YES!!!" Channeling his inner KD. Man, if he could become an outside shooting threat of any kind...

Maybe he can work on it during the off season and JJ will have another weapon under his belt. Also probably best to use it his RS Senior season as, had Porter developed and fine tuned his 3-pt shooting this year, a P5 would surely come in and scoop him for his last season.

He looked very comfortable shooting that one. Maybe work on his dribble drive and he would be a threat anywhere on the court.
