I said at the time I thought Tubby was a strange hire for Memphis
They are struggling and I read somewhere their average attendance is down to less than 6000 a game. It was over 16,000 4 years ago. His salary is 10X what we pay Wes, but Memphis may just have the money to buy him out if they choose to. Still I assume he will be back next season.

That was a really weird hire.
I was on their email list for a time I guess from buying road game tickets until I got sick of the constant special deals trying to move hoops tickets this year.

And he's a hypocrite besides:
Memphis coach Tubby Smith expressed his displeasure Sunday with the high number of players transferring in college basketball, telling reporters the practice teaches athletes "to quit."
Although, I bet Texas Tech fans are happy Tubby "quit" on them after 3 seasons, after indicating Texas Tech would be his last coaching stop.
