Bowling Green daily news article
After this article I think we can expect a 40 minute brawl Thursday night, provided we can get by FAU.

Quote:was flawless offensively Saturday. The Blazers shot 61.7 percent from the field, 62.5 percent from the 3-point line and 80 percent from the foul stripe.

While excellent, Wouldn't flawless be 100%? Writing is "literally" a lost art.

Assuming we win Wednesday, I don’t like having to play a team 5 days after we beat the crap out of them. I’d much rather play ODU in Thursday.

Quote:“Like I told my team, I’ll take all the responsibility,” Stansbury said. “It’s all me. I have no issues with that.

“But I don’t play that game. You get between those lines, you’ve got to show some fight and some grit and some toughness. We didn’t have enough of that.”

"I take responsibility . . . but it's the players' fault."

Rick Stansbury may have lost a step and some hair since his MSU days, but still has every bit as much class.

Did he call his players quitters? If he did I would suggest he read Blazertalk after our MTSU game.

I like the way we match up against WKU better than ODU. Gotta beat those owls first though.

Why would a visiting team's write up in their paper include the announced attendance?

I do too. ODU is a much tougher matchup in my opinion. If they don’t go to the line 80 times more than us we are in good shape.

Sometimes blowing out a team like this will make them more difficult the next time around because of a desire to make up for their prior performance. On the other hand, it’s possible that such a beat down could also have the opposite effect and create some psychological doubts if we should meet them in the quarterfinals.

Definitely have an interesting bracket. Could Marshall knock off MTSU and prevent them from even reaching the finals? Beating someone 3 times in a year is always tough, but I think it’s possible.

If that's the case, we should lose to FAU because we beat them by 31.

Beating someone 3 times in a year is not tough and happens all the time. The chance for that third win is usually around 70% if you beat them two times prior.

You may be right on the general statistics. But I distinctly remember at least once UAB beating a team twice in the regular season only to get sent home by then in the CUSA tournament. But again, I hope Marshall does beat MTSU again because I think we match up better with Marshall if we should make it that far.

We've also lost three times to the same team. UAB's tournament record - Sun Belt, Great MidWest or CUSA - just isn't all that good.

The team I saw Saturday will win that tournament. Hope they got on the plane.
