15-3, Second Place
Congratulations to the Monarchs on our second place finish. 15-3 record, not bad! Long season, we have sure come a long way from those early season losses.

Way to go squad, let's go win the tournament now! I think they can.

There is something to be said for finishing second this year. The top of this conference is tough and I think that was proven this weekend.

Me too. 04-cheers

We’re going to need BJ, Haynes, and Caver to knock down their shots. Gonna see a lot of zone defenses.

A second place finish is fantastic, despite all the injuries and obstacles and naysayers.

There's something to be said for winning the games you're supposed to. WKU didn't and now they enter the tournament in 3rd and drubbed twice in final week.

Very enjoyable season. Very few hiccups and finishing /nd with the competitiveness of the top 5 in conference is impressive.

This is a very good team. Hope they show it next week.

WKY finished 3rd because they played MTSU twice. Had we played them twice, we would have been in 3rd. This was about as boring a year of basketball as it was when we went 5-25.

Look, I hope we make a run in the CUSA tournament just as much as you do. But it ain't happening...

Overall agree. But permit me to clarify the metaphor:

Temple, Empty Sue and WKU#1 were hiccups. W&M and VCU were hairball-level gagging events. Embarrassing, but ultimately not all that terrible once we cleaned ourselves up. WKU#2 was full-on projectile vomiting. We survived it, but the school nurse is still keeping an eye on us just in case.

Let's hope we keep things hiccup free in Frisco.

And UAB. Also, because they had to play MT twice too though. But we did beat everyone we were supposed to in conference. No WTF let downs on that front and that's why we were in position to steal the #2 seed. No trophies for #2 though.

And there's no guarantee that we wouldn't beat MTSU in a rematch, despite what some think.

I was thinking UTSA was an anomaly after WKU drubbed us at their place and they were the better team. But after they lose to UAB by 30, I'm thinking things are more even. So I'm saying there's a chance.

It was a competitive game until the last 2 minutes when we wilted and we have improved since then. We just need to play well and we can beat anyone in the conference.

1 game means nothing. People put too much stock in small samples.

RE: 15-3, Second Place
I remember a similar situation in the CAA when VCU beat us out for the regular season title by one game. But the only played #3 Hofstra and #4 Drexel once while we played them twice (our sweep of Drexel, along with the Georgetown win, got us an at-large bid.)

But at the end of thr day, we finished second because we lost to a terrible JMU team.

RE: 15-3, Second Place
24-6 IS NOT BORING! That is crazy talk! (imo) I had a fantastic time last night with my buds watching Ahmad Caver RIP the ball out of the opponents hands, sprint down court and FLUSH the ball, SEVERAL times. That is not boring! Caver missed one shot all night, I think his first, that is not boring. Trey Porter, the new Trey Porter, playing with super intensity and taking the ball to the hoop (when he wasn't hitting a three). And, 12 and 13 rebounds last two games for Trey(last opponent had just won 3 straight). That is not boring! The sky is the limit for this kid.

Brandan Stith swatting shots away at the rim. That is not boring my friend!

Scoring ten more points per game this year at 75 points exactly , defense currently at #7 in scoring defense at 63.2, that is not boring to me! Some people are just looking for reasons to be unhappy. This has been a GREAT year. Imo of course. But I'm just a happy guy I guess!

24-6, great year. So far!
