We need and should be very competitive with a really good chance to win. I don't want to hear about MT having our number, it's time to win the damn thing! I think it is "Remember The Titans" time for Jeff Jones. **** or get off the pot! We the fans have waited long enough and this team has the talent to win if coached properly and smartly enough. If JJ wins the tournament he returns next year. If not he needs to go. Absolutely no reason for us to not win this tournament except for one....Jeff Jones. It's his time to show what he is made of.
I'm more concerned with WKU than MTSU. WKU is the team that is a real matchup nightmare for us. Hopefully UAB can run them out of the gym again.
That's my point! Every year we seem to go into the tournament worried about how we match up with some teams or how well/badly we played against them during the season. This team is talented enough to throw all that aside and simply say we are going to play our game and let them worry about matching up with us! We are physical enough to take on any team in this conference. We need to be aggressive and assertive and not worry about any opponent we play. The attitude needs to be we take it to them not sit back and see what they will bring to us! Leave no survivors! We can win this thing if we play with a positive and aggressive attitude.

Agreed. WKU is not only a nightmare matchup, they seem to always have a good game against us...especially Justin Johnson.

I think we beat WKY if we play again. Its clear their game plan and there are ways to slow them down.

Everyone will be watching, because we have a chance. I think we gotta like the draw. Let's be honest, there is no time like basketball tournament time.

Amen brother! Reminds me of the classic Braveheart battle scene - let’s go pick a fight! We got this!

Am I reading the tournament bracket right? It looks like we will have two games going at once, with a 30 minute spread in between starts. Is that correct? If so, you've got to be f'ing kidding me!!! What if you wanted to watch the whole tournament, not just your team?

I guess that's why they chose this ridiculous venue. Judy probably figures you can sit close to the curtain and peak around it at both games. Jesus...what a Mickey Mouse operation. It reminds me of my Junior High gym class when we separated the gym into 2 halves with a curtain so the boys and girls could have class at the same time.

Just when I thought "Junior Jeep" Judy couldn't get any more bizarre, they pull this boner. What's next? Will she be twirling a hula hoop and throwing a rubber-band glider during half time?

Yup. I think the league has just given up.

Yes you're correct. Just another aspect of the status of this league. This starts at the Commissioner. This and the lack of guys to mandate schools on their non-conference scheduling. There are many things she could have a hand in to make things better, but not so much.

RE: 2018 C-USA Tourney. Gut-check time
For those that don't know, Frisco is only 30 minutes from the NT campus in Denton, and the Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex is full of NT alumni. When NT played Army in the HOD Bowl in 2016, they had the highest attendance in the last five years for that game (39,000). Have no doubt, this will be a home game tournament for the Mean Green. That's the bad news. The good news is they have been on a real slide, losing six of their last seven games.

On the other hand, LT has to travel and has lost five of their last seven games.

We beat them both on the road, though NT was a tougher win. Bottom line for me, I think I would rather we play LA Tech, but we clearly should win regardless of which of the two we meet in the quarter finals. So let's just get the job done. Go Monarchs!

Thanks for the info.

Just get that first win Monarchs and see where we stack up and go from there. It’s about to get interesting!

The box score shows the reported attendance at 1907. Yikes.

Based on the seating setup, I guess they are not expecting many people.

At this point, just move the conference tourney to the homecourt of the higher seeds.
