Maybe.....just maybe, it's time to replace the VB coach. Not sure why she is still here to be honest.

Beach Volleyball Adds Three For 2019

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek has announced the additions of Chrissy Augustine, Lexie Hamilton and Kristy Witte to the beach volleyball program for the 2019 season.

"We are excited about the additions of Chrissy, Lexie and Kristy to our Beach program," said Bambenek. "All three are veterans in the sand and are equally strong defenders that also have offensive range and variety. They have proven to be successful students in the classroom, who will complement our current team academic achievements. There is a lot of potential in this class and look forward to helping them grow during their beach careers"

Augustine (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) earned a bid to play in the Volley America junior nationals in February and won the U18 Sunshine State Outdoor Volleyball Association championship in March. She added second and third-place finishes at the Dig the Beach and Volley America in April and March, respectively. Also in March, she captured the championship at the NVL tournament and finished second in May at the FAU tournament. Augustine earned a spot on the Headmaster's List all four years at Prep and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Hamilton (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) competed at the 2018 USA Volleyball U19 World Championships at the Elite Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., and was selected to the 2017-18 USAV Beach HP A2 team. She earned bids to several world championship events including 2018 Volley America Junior National championship, 2017 USAV Beach Championship and the ABT and Rox Championships. She was ranked 26th nationally and sixth in the state of Florida by the USAV. Hamilton earned Summa *** Laude honors and was a member of the National Honor Society with Bi-literacy and Merritt Designations.

Witte (Arlington, Va./Washington and Lee HS) earned bids to the AAU Junior Olympics from 2016 through 2018. She was a HP regional team member on three occasions and was listed in the JVA Beach Watch list in 2015 through 2017. Academically, Witte was her school's valedictorian after posting a 4.28 grade point average. She was a member of the honor roll all four years at Washington and Lee.

RE: 2018 Beach Volleyball Thread
There was a good article in yesterday's LA Times that mentioned former beach Vball player Tanna Alijoe and assistant coach Brittany Fennell. They have teamed up and are playing in the Hermosa Beach AVP Open qualifier.
They won their first match on Thursday and need to win 2 more to qualify for the main draw that starts this weekend. If they advance to Sunday I plan on attending.
