MBB vs. Ball State
Just in case Frazier is unconvinced about the apathy toward NIU men's basketball, the regular-season and home finale tipped off a half hour ago and there's no game thread.
Even when football played Presbyterian, there were was a prediction thread in advance and the game thread would have more comments by halftime than Monty's team will get following tonight's game.
#FireMonty. We can't afford another year of his mediocrity.
#FireFrazier. Take care of your own home before you waste time and effort trashing UCF. You want another job, then your resume needs to include a significant and successful hire rather than pointing to contract extensions and schedulepalooza.

STF is a real class act. He couldn't be bothered to show up for senior night.

RE: MBB vs. Ball State
This team is so inconsistent. They have beaten great Buffalo and Ball State teams and have hung tough with Marquette and Iowa State, but their record is 13-18 with some pretty bad losses. This team has the potential to beat any team in the MAC, but they also have the potential to get drilled by any team in the MAC. Hopefully, it’s the first one because I want a No. 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

I saw STF in the second half.

A friend of mine has learned that MM contract has one more year on it, not two years, and that STF does not give coaches with one year remaining on a contract any extensions.

Thus, it sounds like he will be the coach next year and attendance will be 500 or less per game...........

I missed this game and they win. Guess I am the problem. What an up and down team. Expectations were very low this year and team had plenty of new comers. Can they use this year to build on and be successful next year? I am dreaming again I guess.

Great to see Thorpe giving Geno a little kiss on the cheek after the game winner. It was great to have them win a game by being the tougher team tonight. They kept fighting and showed a lot of heart!

I saw him at the end of the game, shaking hands with the big wigs sitting on the sidelines. Didn't see him before that. Certainly don't see him in the crowd.

Guys, STF attended the game last night. Unless he is out of town on business he is at the games. I personally have talked to him at most games. If you look up at the Nelson Suite you will see him standing watching the game in the doorway. He comes down to the arena and ends up standing in the Huskies tunnel. Enough with the BS about Frazier already!

When Phillips was here, he and his family had their season tickets in my row, down about four seats from us. You saw him pretty much every game, in the crowd. He was approachable to the nth degree.

Even Jiff was around the fans.

This is NIU, not Alabama. STF should get out into the crowd, consistently.

I find it funny that he's happy to be on the field during the timeouts during football, but when they were doing the exact same faculty award things at basketball games, he's never to be seen.

If he was successful, no one would care. But he's not. And, he appears to be out of touch, and uninterested in fans.

Absolutely, but he ignores all the others. You need to shmooze to varying degrees with all donors, not just the Yordons and Chessick. I happen to know the AD of another Chicago area university who does just this. This is how you increase the number of donors and volume of donations. Make all the donors feel like they are special.

Cultivating donors doesn't mean you keep going back to the same ones who already donated. It means growing the base. I don't care that he doesn't talk to me. In fact, if he'd been more accessible last night, I'd have really told him how inappropriate his recent P5/G5 comments were. In fact, I thought about yelling them at him when he was on the court. That being said, I'm sure there are more people at the games with a potential to grow their donation who he misses.

Again, he's not at Alabama.
