RE: HBU Friday game
A fly out, then an RBI single.

Then a great play by Cruz to swat down a high liner, pick it up and fire to 1st.

I think Bob was mislead. Carter, with the 0.64 ERA, did indeed start tonight for HBU.

Proctor walks. Sarchet walks. 8 balls. Mound visit by a visibly annoyed coach.

Not too shabby. Well done!

RE: HBU Friday game
That was more like it, and we did it against a pitcher who had previously given up just 1 run in 15 IP, including a road shutout over 9-2 Fresno State.

Game Ball #1: Matt Canterino (W, 1-1, 7.0 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 12 Ks, 1 BB, 107 pitches)-- in a dominating outing. At one point he retired 16 batters in a row. A true ace who is on the verge of greatness.

Game Ball #2: Chase Sarchet (2-3, HR#2, triple, sac fly, BB, 2 runs scored, 5 RBIs)-- have a day Mr. Sarchet! He absolutely crushed 3 balls tonight.

Game Ball #3: Ford Proctor (2-3, double, 2 BBs, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI)-- Ford just being Ford. His OBP is now at a cool .500.

Terrific all-around game-- starting pitching, defense and offense. 6 different players collected 2 hits....season high in hits (13) and runs (10)...and we hit 4 line shot outs. Chandler, Proctor, Sarchet and Comeaux are all red out, and true Freshman duo (Collins, Cruz) are both hitting the ball hard.

With a lefty going against us tomorrow, I suspect Collins will be behind the plate (assuming Dom is going to miss some time with his left hand still causing him significant discomfort) and Dunlap will be making his season debut. One down, two to go.

He finished at 107 pitches.

We didn't really need it, but the home plate umpire gave us a nearly Savery-esque gift for the game-ending called strike three:

LOL. Sorry about that!

The video bar didn't go away after I stopped the action. After taking the screenshot, I was going to crop out the bar, but didn't when I realized that that would also remove the ball-strike-out info that visible behind it.
