Enjoy your crappy Delta flights. Delta and United offer some of the worst customer service for airlines I've ever experienced. They've been sucking down gov't contract money for years, which means guaranteed money and less need to impress.

Continental was pretty good in their last 10-15 years. United has dragged them down.
Delta wasn't very good, but Northwest was awful. They have moved down to the lowest common denominator in that merger also.

when I played in the world of having to travel, it didn't take long to figure out Continental was the only way to fly.....I avoided the rest regardless of cost....

I like SouthWest. Last trip to Vegas they did not charge our group a penny for cocktails...coming or going. Never even asked for a credit card. Best trip ever.

when I was flying, SW had the A,B,C,D 'first in line' seating system......that was horseshite....maybe it's different now....I wouldn't know....

I don't stand in line for a seat for an hr to save 40 bucks on airfare....

I never had a problem getting exit/aisle seating with Continental before getting lounge access and first class seating.....

call me spoiled.....but the middle seat on a 4 hr flight is dogshite when you're 6' 3" 240 lbs....

that's all I cared about relative from point A to B....

RE: Georgia Lawmakers Vote to Strip Delta of $40 Million Tax Breaks
When I flew through Atlanta about 10 years ago Delta stood for "Doesn't Ever Leave The Airport" due to the extensive delays in getting off the ground at ATL.

In 2005 Delta got wrong on their Fuel Purchasing and on the bad side of some Labor and Pension Issues. Their subsequent Chapter 11 had them calling in all their favors to keep Southwest out of Hartsfield in 2006 when they had to sell Gates to Airtran/ValueJet/DeathJet. Had SWA obtained Gates in Hartsfield in 2006 Delta would have been in Chapter 7.

Delta used to know the politics. Delta pushed hard and won their dedicated International Terminal at Hartsfield along with financial concessions from the City, Fulton and Clayton counties when the economy was going to Hell in 2008. All three governments were basically broke at the time.

I hope Delta suffers for their stupidity. Their aircraft have the same size seats as Southwest, and SWA is usually 15% less expensive. I don't mind going to Hobby over Bush IAH.
