Hopefully WE will bring our band
Troy is a band loss. They march 1,000 kids or something.
It's not Southern Miss like someone in this thread said, It's the Southern University Jaguars from Baton Rouge. And while we probably have no business playing them, at least we picked a FCS school with a band worth seeing. Any band named the Human Jukebox Band is bound to be great. I hope they make the trip.
I am confusing Troy with someone else, but I can't figure out who. Who did we play 8 to 10 years ago that brought a band the size of a high school? MTSU? I don't think so. Seems like the band was red, and it was HUGE. But it was not a big school.

Probably Arkansas State.
Not often we get opponent bands in the Liberty Bowl, and virtually will never happen in AAC. Those that do are smaller versions of themselves, such as Kansas in 2016.
We flat out humiliated Arkansas State's band in 2013.

Bowen has really watered down the non-conference schedule. One P5 school per year and a bunch of creampuffs.
I'm concerned about this Tommy West philosophy of scheduling. While the Tigers are good, as long as it lasts, we need to try to get better opponents for television. UCLA was a great get, even if they fell below expectations this year. The Tigers have been damn awesome the last few years, and we need to capitalize on that.

You're thinking of Jacksonville State.

That's the one.
I remember Middle Tennessee having a huge band too.
