RE: Evans Update?
Where is everyone seeing Evans as potential first round pick? I checked 5 different sites today and none had him in the first round and several said he was a questionable second round pick. Just curious?

I personally don't see him as an NBA guy. He's a decent three point shooter with athleticism that helps him in transition but he can not create his own shot well at all.

RE: Evans Update?
An NBA scout for the nets released his big board the other day and had Evans at #14. I'm willing to be some of those scouts that have shown up to our games have liked what they see from him.

He's already a good all around player so he's unlikely to be a dramatically different prospect a year from now. He's guaranteed to be a year older next year. I believe he'll work his way into the late first round and will have a long career due to his size, athleticism, ballhandling, defense, and 3 point shooting. For a role player he's a better prospect in every way than SK who lasted three years in the league.

Not to say there isn't downside to staying... but for him I think his best situation would be staying a year and improving his handle, that's his best bet to ever be a NBA starter. He's not a natural alpha personality tho, so his NBA career may be best as a good role player anyway... if that's the case he should go.

He will get more opportunity to improve his handle by going pro (more practice/training time). He might improve his draft position a bit if he shows more of an ability to create off the dribble. But the risk isn't worth the reward. He will be an NBA starter as is, the question is can he become a star player or will he be a 3 and D role player?

RE: Evans Update?
It would be hard to discourage him from going if he feels it's his optimum shot at the rarest of opportunities: to play with the world's best in the NBA. Selfishly, as a Bearcat fan, I'd love to see him back next year. Given recent progress from others on the bench, Mick may have a pretty elite team again next season with Evans. And we all saw Kenyon take it to another level altogether his senior year to become consensus National Player of the Year.

When the Golden State GM comes to check you out in person , got to like your chances.

indeed. He's bounced back and forth from late first to second on online mock's, but when scouts and owners take an interest; as they have through out the year, draftnet, barstool and whatever else are bupkis.

Again, he could be coming back. I'm just not counting on it.

RE: Evans Update?
I bet he stays another year. Met some of his high school friends and their parents from Baton Rouge who had made the trip to the Houston game. His folks were there too. Just didn't get the feeling from talking with them that they were all just waiting for Evans to go pro, they talked about how much he is enjoying college and what a great guy Evans is on and off the court.

Just didn't get the vibe that he's got one eye on he door.

We need Evans or someone to go for 25 to win big games. Today would be a good day to start.

RE: Evans Update?
If he can get first round money, he should go. This gives his family an opportunity to have generational money where as a return to college can get you nothing but a few cheers. The Bearcats also get a little bump. Mick will have placed another player ranked outside the top 50 out of high school in the NBA. Who else has done this?
