RE: Tubby gets a raise next year
His contract calls for his salary to increase to $3.25 million.

It's still very likely this team gets to 20-21 wins.

Beat ECU in the regular season finale: 19

Win the 5 v 12 rematch with USF in the AAC tournament: 20

Toss up game in the 4 v 5 quarterfinal; win that: 21

Lose in semi-final: final record 21-13 (or 20-13) with winning something like 6 of the last 8/9 games -- but still no postseason........

Almost entire team coming back and will be senior laden.

Nickleberry, Johnson, Enoh will be sophomores.

(2018 recruiting class is still a MAJOR concern.)

Picked 9th; finished 5th.

On the outside looking in nothing fireable about this season.

Next year (year 3) probably push to 22-23 wins and an NIT invitation.

IF recruiting doesn't really pick up it won't be until year 4 when the wheels really fall off.

....and at that point it's too late to do anything about it. Just like Pastner was allowed to stay two years too long; Tubby will be allowed to stay two years too long.

Till the wheels really fall off? The wheels have been long gone. We just had our worst loss in the last 35 years. This is a dumpster fire.

It's not fireable until you realize that the roster stays the same for next year, we're nowhere near the tournament, and we'll lose everybody after next season and it's unlikely that Smith will get in any quality recruits. We will be starting walkons in 2 years.

This post is very true... People that havent paid much attention will think everything is ok at Memphis but we all know that this isnt how it should be. This team won all these games because our OOC schedule was an absolute joke and the AAC is extremely top heavy. We have to make a change ASAP and I'm afraid that the university wont be able to make it happen for at least one more season

RE: Tubby gets a raise next year
I am afraid they will give him an extension----citing that it would show recruits a commitment to Smith----otherwise the recruits will consider him a lame duck ----and go elsewhere . That would be par for the course ----the thinking of some of our leaders/boosters. God help us.

RE: Tubby gets a raise next year
Why on earth would they put in raises that happen automatically instead of milestone-based???
