If Tubby Smith is not gone at season's end, this will only get worse...and it will get worse for David Rudd as well. It is not just in the University's interest to make an immediate change; it is as well in the interest of Dr. David Rudd. The team on the floor last night, the lack of fans in the arena, the embarrassing loss, the outrage amongst fans...I do not see how or why you would allow this to go on. Make a change and make it now. Tubby Smith is a nice guy. He is not the right fit for Memphis. The sooner he is gone; the sooner Memphis can heal. I firmly do believe Hardaway would be a helluva hire and return us to immediate prominence. No matter what, a change needs to happen and it can be assured, especially after last night's loss, that every one is aware of this. The money IS there. The awareness is there. Someone just needs to make it happen.

True. They have 6 years to pay him for the next 3.

The money is there for Tubby. It has to be because he has a contract to get paid as the current men's bb coach. The money we need would be for the NEW coach. However much that is.

you know you guys could tweet Rudd. He's pretty responsive on that medium.

It's just a matter of timing at this point, folks. TS may indeed coach us again for another year, but I can assure you nobody in the ivory tower is happy with the current state of affairs.

In the meantime, we lowly fans just have to nut up and hang on for a while longer.

Sorry but for me over the last 30 plus years of season tickets they have used up "hang on another year." I WILL begin again when they hire Penny. And for me it is going to be Penny and not someone else. Win or lose I will support Penny. Plain and simple.

There are enough good coaches to think about but I bet they will think twice before coming here even if there is no place to go but up. Plus IMO it would take even more money than what we are paying Tubby to get them to consider the job here.
