Or raising money for the "master plan", or figuring out what's wrong with our men's basketball team, or scheduling more opponents for football, or finding a seriously good offer for the convo naming rights (which should've been taken care of years ago), or marketing the athletic program in general, or making greater efforts to increase attendance over all sports, or figuring out why they can't run a ticket office properly, or calling/emailing donors (regardless of $ amount) personally and talking to them about their views on NIU athletics, etc.

Not that he can't comment on stuff when he's asked...but he's got plenty of issues and little progress to show in his own house.

All the talk about STF should 'worry about the football team playing better' or 'worry about the basketball team being able to score'...must be folks who don't know the role of an AD.

I don't love the overall comments, I can somewhat see the strategy. But STF isn't paid to coach, he's paid to manage the athletic program, hire/fire coaches as needed...but not to worry about such little things as the next game a specific team is playing. I would hope our AD isn't only allowed to speak publicly when our teams are performing well, that's just nonsense.

Every other MAC program is sitting back and afraid to upset the status quo. This is why midweek MACtion is a thing. Props to Frazier for trying to shake the cage. Let’s continue to build this brand and win. The MAC is a reactionary league. It’s all about just trying to hang on and stay relevant at the bottom rung.

Anyone notice that the Mountain West is looking to add Gonzaga and BYU? The MAC will never close the gaps on leagues like the AAC and MWC. Those leagues are on the offensive while the MAC is in survival mode. Keep pushing NIU’s agenda. It’s the only chance NIU has to get out.

I read that article and they said they've been in contact with 8 schools I believe that are asking about getting into the MW. Byu just got out of it a few years ago, so not sure why they would want back so quick

I wonder if NIU is one of the eight. If BYU goes back they may want to pair them with another football school. He does specifically mention the Mountain West as being marginalized by the AAC. Not saying it’s a realistic option but moving football to the MWC would certainly ensure midweek games are a thing of the past.

I don't mind him being one of the more verbal G5 AD's, helps keep us at the forefront of that group a tad.

Having said that, his wheels do seem to be spinning off a bit. Naming rights, master plan movement, or new AD soon.

did you read the full article, he essential says the mac isn't good either

imo his comments would have been fine if the narrative was: i don't like the AAC's p6 campaign because i don't think its only them that can compete, us in the mac can compete in the p5 as well
thats actually a good movement

but he trashes the entire g5...he says the g5 cant compete with the p5, that teams dont get tested in the mac either..insinuates no one in the g5 will ever deserve a title... which i dont get how you can say that publicly as the head of a g5

these comments not only burn any future bridges to enter the aac, it also completely devalues the league you are currently in, that you are now stuck in

his full comments are: i don't like the AAC's p6 campaign because we cant compete and they cant either

not sure how that furthers niu's agenda at all..bama's agenda? sure..but niu????

-niu's agenda should be "going undefeated should receive high merit" (supporting ucf) something niu can do.. not saying undefeated in meaningless if you dont play a p5 schedule (some niu cant do)

-niu agenda is saying your current league is amazing (regardless of reality) because you sell tickets vs your league

-nius agenda should be pretending to be nice to the aac (even if you hate them) till the inevitable expansion moves in 7 years when the big 12 gor ends

RE: Wow. Frazier Slams UCF and AAC for Title Talk
Frazier wanted out of MAC and would have taken AAC. He's jealous they capitalized and instead of admiring them, we can be like them, their conf, even NIU was once in that position in BCS (WMU too,we can do that to promote conf instead he fires a shot. Again it's called jealousy. And mocking them? Mockery is the #1 form of flattery.

He actually portrays being scared because if AAC becomes a 6th, MAC status gets diminished more, if possible. He's went from trying his best to leave MAC to defending it as they should be in conversation. There may have been an iota of hope to establish something with AAC. I were them. conf I would say GFY. They don't need us as much as we would like another conf., need other conf like them or a BWC to form some coalition should playoffs expand. If anyone thinks this is positive, makes NIU look better must really like to see the glass as half full all the time. I admire you positive mindset but sometimes the glass is empty, even if you can't acknowledge it.

I think that Frazier took this job as a stepping stone hoping to boost his career. Instead he slipped off the stone, fell into the river and is caught up in the current.

He is not the second coming of Jim Philips.
