I tend to agree...and...it is simply counterproductive to market competition that we as capitalist country have embraced. Im very uncomfortable with tariffs unless they are specifically targeted at market players that are using coercion to end run natural processes of competition.

that is XACLY! the most sensible position to take....

I've lived through how mat'l costs impact so many other thingys.....

this one was unnecessary.....there's still other fallen fruit he should be focusing on.....

edit: an easy example was when china starting building empty cities choking out supply.....and what did our dipshite leadershite do.....not a dayum thingy except give them the resources to begin buying our debt so we could could continue spending on stupid shite,.....

My industry is benefiting some from a tariff put on Chinese plywood as a response to dumping container car after container car of cheap goods into the US with zero intent to make a profit and destroy our domestic manufacturers. Users are scrambling to find new suppliers now due to the sudden price rise of Chinese goods. We are competitive with them now due to this. I have no problem punishing bad actors with tariffs.

that's the point....in specifics, I don't either....

however, lumber is a bit different from steel relative to $$$, mining, and grade....

you must be in paneling....canada is the largest exporter of lumber....in this case, that tariff should be a positive across the board in leveling competition....

Seems to be aimed at Mexico and Canada. Trump saying the tariffs go away if we get a good deal on the NAFTA negotiations.

Mexico and Canada cannot be politically seen to be helping Trump in any way at all. Literally, if Trump or any of his supporters can claim any benefit, then its going to be anathema to both of them.

Besides, any new deal is going to have to be approved by the Senate.

I'm not seeing a Trump deal being able to get to 50 votes plus Pence.

Do you understand reverse colonization through the economic undercutting of means to produce the basic elements of industry and economic self determination.

I could go explain to a dog why my favorite color is blue

I suspect dems would grasp the point with equal clarity as the dog.

Or just understand democrats hate America.

Youre welcome though
