SunBelt website says the championship game will air on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2. So I guess they’ve narrowed it down to a definitive channel?

Just don't be something completely backwater like CBS Sports.

Someone on twitter also brought up a solid possibility in that could be something to do with new/expanded tv deal with espn

No, one year the SoCon actually had a deal with PBS. One reason it's a culture shock to be in a place where you get paid to be on TV, even if it's peanuts.

Considering the hint that's been thrown out on Sun Belt Twitter, there's a small ESPN watermark at the top corner of the screen...

I'm just going to assume an extended TV deal with ESPN? Or an announcement that ESPN will be broadcasting the CCG? Surely nothing more that that...

Given the rumor that the league asked to reopen the TV deal with the championship game as a part of the deal instead of negotiating the championship game independently and the schedule announcement has the title game on the ESPN family, TV is the safest wager.

More interesting is whether the league's idea of what would make the TV deal announcement a major announcement is in line with what the fans would think of the deal once the details leak.

CCG makes the most sense. I would love to see SBC get one game a week on a ESPN Channel when not playing a Weekday game. From my perspective, I would love to see the P5 get rid of all noon games. Give that time slot to the G5s. I personally can't stand noon games. I personally have gotten to old for 9am tailgates and brain baking sun games in Sept.

All championship games for all sports will be held at Lakefront Arena.

Think it could be more than the CCG. Wonder if the new TV deal is involved and with a setup like the MAC with everthing tied to ESPN with ESPN3 as the backbone.

My very in-the-know source says it's not that big, but won't spill the beans.

My guess is the same as a lot of others... Either some expanded TV deal for any/all sports or a favorable time and network for football championship game.

I've heard Idle chatter, and I don't think its "major"

I think I know the reason the league is terming it major though.

NCAA cherishes this two week period before their month-long tournament parade. This is their time to make hay. Any significant league or conference announcement will be held for release over the next few days leading up to March Madness for maximum publicity.
