Apparently St Marys got out of a game this year with Nevada and passed up an opportunity to play Rhode Island. Wow...

And, they just backed out of the Diamond Head Classic that had a good numbers of teams. Sounds like GU is out of the WCC.

"scheduling conflict".... LOL.

UNLV there makes for a bad MWC situation.

Makes sense. BYU wasn't even one of the schools the MW was talking to. Hell, BYU could join the WAC at this point and keep a national schedule.

How stupid can you be...

They also rejected Creighton last year. Creighton’s AD was head of committee. 03-lmfao

If/When Gonzaga leaves and say Seattle replaces them in the WCC, who else out west is willing to move up to keep the WAC alive?
Azusa Pacific could but don't have a home for football. Any others? Tarleton St. is looking for that SLC invite.

There are hundreds of schools out west looking to move up to DI. Just ask DavidSt.

I highly doubt anything will be announced while the tournament is going on.

There are normally a number of athletic director events and president events scheduled around the Final Four. It makes for an excellent time to chat things up.

There is a thread on the d2football board with people from APU strongly stating they have no desire to be D1.

The D2 board is like AnyGivenSaturday, anti-moving up in class.

Well, since the conference tournament brings all the schools together, I think there was a discussion during that time and things worked out before any official announcement. The official announcement will come after the tourney or after GU is eliminated if they are coming to the MW in 2018-2019 season.

Maybe so, but with Cal Baptist leaving for the WAC this year, it could change their perspective if their feelings about not wanting D1 are true.
In the past 2 years APU has seen Cal Baptist move up to D1 from their conference and Dixie St moving to the RMAC. Maybe they'll be happy having those 2 powerhouses in the conference gone, maybe not.
It'll be up the APU Admin how they see themselves and what their desire is.

Not confirmation on his point, but pretty darn close. No actual source, just multiple sources.

It’s news to Summit fans, as Denver would pay up to $2 million annually to get membership in the MWC. When the WCC has an opening, Denver will probably try to get in that too, as a travel partner with BYU. Seattle will just have a tiny <1000 seat gym on campus until Key Arena’s renovation is done in three years.
