Aww isn't that cute, you think people care about a shocker opinion, what were you saying again. . .

Am I the only one to notice that the outline of the state also looks a lot like a dagger/knife ?

If that is intentional then that is some damn fine 3D thinking on ECU's part....

^^The best. When Shocker fans reminisce about "the gold old days"... this is the image in their mind. This, and the 4 magical letters - MTXE.

what does MTXE stand for? just wondering is it like LSU's Geaux tigers?

Mental Toughness Extra Effort. It was our old version of "Play Angry"

So apparently, you guys don't know how to spell "Extra," right?

MTEE doesn't really have the same ring to it.

MTXE has a spiffy ring to it, huh? 03-cool

I was always a fan of Huffy though we almost lost him. The AD secretary will always be my hero. She had a button on a board behind her or we had no original images at the school. I worked in the media relations and searched for weeks, only to find I had walked by that button thousands of times.

[Image: serveimage?url=http%3A%2F%2Ft0.gstatic.c...che=741197]
When were you with media relations?

2001-2005

Aah. You were there before me. Was Stef there yet?

She came the year I was mostly gone on study abroad and then the last semester I was there. I worked with Roger before he went to Tulane and Jason. DT is the man.

Truthfully the public relations side of sport is what I wanted to do after working there. I have a communications degree. It's just so hard to break into and the hit when you start is bad on pay. Just never worked out.

I "wrote" most of the record books. I had to hunt through old media guides, school papers, etc. Then go back and make sure we didn't just overlook something. Discovering we didn't have our total yardage list right is what got it started. DT was like good job, now go find out where else we messed up.

Then they were talking about re-doing the mascot and the designer wanted all the previous ones. So I found pics of them all, some who we thankfully forgot about. Everyone was like Huffy! Huffy! I looked and looked and couldn't find him any where. Called an old professor who had the kid in his class who designed Huffy. Used the Alumni association to track him down, walked into maybee big smile. She looks at me as I pass her desk and asks about the grin. I tell her I finally found huffy. She's like "Oh I have a huffy button up here on my wall" 04-jawdrop talk about ruining someone's sense of accomplishment 03-weeping03-hissyfit
That's funny. We actually lost another long time SID to Tulane. Really nice guy. loved DT.

From 2002 - 2013 were they known as the Uconn Lassies?

My favorite is really the skinny UH like we wore on the helmets until 1999. I hate the way the logo looks on the red helmets now.

I always liked the UCF state of Florida logo used on our helmets in the '90s
[Image: Central_Florida_OLD3.gif]

We sort of brought that look back with our War on I4 helmets in 2016, but I'd like to see this version in black.

Like this fan made version:

For real old school, here's the original "Knights of Pegasus" logo used before we had a football team and changed from FTU to UCF.

I'd love for this to come back, at least for one game:
