MyBB Jamal Johnson.....exploding onto the scene!!! KUDOS
.....MVP vs UCONN 18 points 8 rebounds (2 offensive) with 0 turnovers and played 35 minutes! Was highs for the entire game.....

I was noticing how active he was off the ball, without being aware of the stats.... I'm looking to watch that game again to see the level of impact at critical junctures in the game....As a Freshman, this performance is VERY impressive....deserving of freshman of the week for sure....excited about seeing his rise in development and what he brings in the foreseeable future 02-13-banana

Like nearly all freshmen, he is inconsistent. Nevertheless, one can see his improvement over the course of the season and the future looks promising.

RE: Jamal Johnson.....
Jamal needs a heavy dose of the weight room!! he can really jump for his size and once he gets more confident in his shot he could end up being a pretty good player for Tubby or whoever is here his 4 years.

RE: Jamal Johnson.....
He's a pretty good rebounder from the 2 spot as well.

RE: Jamal Johnson.....
Always liked his game, and I think he's going to be a game-changer by the time his college days are over.

RE: Jamal Johnson.....
He is young and the program being in it's current state is likely accelerating his development by throwing him in the fire early.

RE: Jamal Johnson.....
I think without Martin in there Jamal has more confidence, that is all he is lacking. The talent is there.

Gr8 points made...I actually came upon this by noticing his rebounding ability. I admire a guard that follows up shots and attacks the offensive boards. Kinda reminiscent of a Geron Johnson...(which is one of my fav's)

Speaking of throwing him in the fire early...this is incredibly significant as he has virtually been in the shadows of Martin, IMO...However, during the absence of Martin, JJ explodes onto the scene! Seeing that take place was pretty incredible as in, where has this been ALL year....

Reminded me of the year that Penny came onto the scene and Tony Madlock was the guard...There was a realization that Tony was the leader of the team, and didn't concede as much to Penny, although it was obvious that Penny was supremely talented. I remember shouting as Tony didn't seem to concede to Penny opportunities to run the offense by giving the rock to him more often or in critical situations...

I really appreci8 Jeremiah for what he brings to the team...Love to see him get steals as well as take the ball to the rack...His development has been gr8, to say the least.

I think that Jamal has that "it" factor as stated, the raw talent is there... We have a stable of guards that are extremely dynamic ....It's gr8 to see their confidence beginning to crescendo...Question is, can this ALL culmin8 into a successful team and render W's throughout this post-season and get us to tourney next year.....THE TALENT IS THERE....

His shooting still sucks but I love his demeanor as a freshman.
