Per WMU AD Kathy Beauregard tweet:
Quote:WMU@CMU Basketball game postponed for tonight . The Broncos are all safely locked into their hotel until further notice. Once CMU makes any announcements we will pass it on . The Broncos will assist in any possible way to support CMU and their community .

Not good at all for either WMU or CMU.
Assuming the game is played say at noon tomorrow, CMU has to travel to their road game Monday night.
This game effects the seedings of say 4 other teams which would be effected by a WMU or CMU win.
P.S. I believe each of the 6 games this weekend effects seedings. Wouldn't it be bad if CMU had to travel all the way to MIA Monday night? Sleep Saturday night and then Sunday off to MIA.

Dear MAC members,
Eastern beats Toledo tonight. Gets third seed for the tournament.

More noteworthy is that EMU beat Toledo on their home floor on Senior night.
EMU winning 8 of last 9 games means we are hot, hot, hot!
Go Eagles!

Brutal finish to the season for Ball State, who might have played their way out of a first round bye. With Kent State falling to Akron, the door is open for WMU to steal a bye with a win over CMU.

In conference hoops, "every game matter"
And that is the way it should be. Who wants an 82 game season...

RE: MAC Basketball Week (Final Week of the Conference Season)
Right Now in order of favorites
Buffalo still the favorite, deep, best mix of multiple scorers and team defense
Eastern playing lights out with the league's most athletic team, best defensive big man, and that zone which is in a zone now- so to speak
Toledo has the best all around player and as good team offense as anyone. If they have multiple guys hot from 3 you will have to score a ton to beat them, however, their defense tends to give up a lot so...
Kent St is an average team playing OK but they are experienced, are the defending champ and matchup pretty good with everyone.
If Ball St is playing well and you are not they will beat you but they have been pretty inconsistent. Got a go to lead guard and solid bigs but unlikely to play well 3 or 4 in a row.
WMU has go to lead guard, experience and coaching but their complementary guys have been on and off all year and probably doesn't have a good enough inside game to make it through the better interior teams in the league.
Miami is a real long shot but is consistently playing their game, has a lead guard who can control tempo and a coaching staff that may prove to be even better than acknowledged so far (Owens would be my COY).
CMU likely doesn't have the talent for an extended run, but they play their game and are capable of disrupting the bracket if jump shots are falling because they will get to the rim for layups against most defenses.
NIU is dangerous for a game or two because German is so good off the dribble.
Don't see BG, Ohio or Akron making it past quarters but all are half decent so semis wouldn't be a shock.
