Thorton is very clumbsy right now when he gets hit...Hopefully he learns how to work through contact. That wont matter if he keeps shooting the 3 well...

Nickelberry has the same issue because as soon as you touch Nick he is done.

Both of those guys are like Superman compared to Rivers who can get knocked down from the wind generated by a swished shot. He falls to the floor in a heap at least once a game (sometimes 2-3) with his hands over his head as if further contact is coming and lays there for 30 seconds or so and then bounces up ready to go. Every team has a wimp but Rivers act is second to none, I used to think it was to buy a timeout.

Rivers gets knocked around but he still has the ability to finish through contact...

Rivers struggles with boxing out and holding his ground in the post.

Leave it to Memphis fans to derail a congratulatory thread and turn it into a bashfest.

Raynere has obviously been working his butt off on that shot -- killing it from 3 and from the ft line. Well done!

There is a difference between critique and bashing...

But I guess some cannot see that.

Happy for him! Shooting great! Still wonder how with his build has no inside game though?

Congratulations to @Memphis_MBB’s Raynere Thornton, who was named this week’s @American_MBB Player of the Week!

As he should...

Not sure what he has been doing lately but I hope he keeps it up.

Look at how wildly inconsistent his minutes played are:

He had some type of injury in his ribs. Bruised?

Rivers is our best perimeter defender. There's times where we have to play him.

I love this Thornton kid-maybe best chance at NBA than anyone on this team if he works on his outside shot and staying in front of his man. NBA values his body type in a 3 who who shoot the 3.
