Yeah, not bad climb, but you do need to spend some time at base camp to avoid the altitude sickness that usually prevents summiting.

Get some good Sherpas, they're worth it.

I just discovered geology is not an offered course at Tulsa U. today...

Did you? Or do they not teach topography at WSU?

If elevation of Oklahoma is higher than Kansas which way will the poo flow? The best example of this is continental divides, hence why the Nile flows south to north, the Mississippi north to south.

Kansans poop in the Arkansas river. The Arkansas river flows from Wichita straight down to Tulsa (which is closer to the Gulf of Mexico) where you then fill your glass with water taken from the well out behind your trailer.

There, I was able to educate you and not be late for recess win-win. 04-cheers

I'm aware of which way the river actually flows. I also know for sure that Kansas isn't as flat as we said. I wasn't using actual geography. I was pointing out we are hilly and higher than Kansas and since poo rolls down hill. . .

Also don't talk trash about accuracy and claim that well water (taken from underground) is the same water source as the river you ugly up.

Looks like you made recess but have to stay after for detention.

If you would care to look, much of that water is Colorado's poo. We just use Kansas as a filtration system. That's why your crops are so good. Your entire state is fertilizer.

I’m appreciative of the few times invisiblehand comes back here on this site when his team starts winning that he uses his time to always talk about Kansas and everything in it.

Those pictures Cold posted must’ve struck a nerve.

You see how the river abruptly turns northerly as it approaches central Kansas? It's heading directly for Manahattan, home of Manure U. We've already established that the Arkansas River is full of ****; well... ****(KSU) attracts ****. Don't argue with me, it's science...

I am not sure I should weigh in here but I am.

The area around Mt Sunflower is not as flat is it looks in those pics. There are vista, buttes etc. It is desert-like, as it should be with about 15 inches of rain a year. It is hell and gone from anywhere. I got a flat tire headed there and have no idea what I would have done if my spare was flat. No cell signal and no towns, ranches or farms for miles and miles and miles. It is a country the strong hearted. Ron Baker grew up close to there.

The highest elevation in Ohio is 1500 feet. That's major lame.

Also, that major river is pronounced "Ar - Kansas" - not Ar - kansaw. It isn't a joke. That is the name of the river in Kansas. If someone referenced the "Arkansaw" river in Kansas, we wouldn't have any idea what they are talking about.

dude, a parking lot sits atop campbell hill and not for the attraction of being the state's highest point. not sure what it's for but no one in the area could even give us directions because they had never heard of it. at least ohio doesn't even bother calling it a mountain. mt sunflower is pretty high in elevation, didn't know that was mostly gradual however. outside of the flint hills, my favorite thing about kansas is the shear isolation
