I can't imagine how he won't end up as the MAC poy. If not, major screw job.

Can’t think of many others. Taylor was a beast but not nearly as versatile as Trè. The grad guy from Michigan offered some semblance of skill on a team pretty much bereft of it back in K’s first year. Can’t recall any before Coach K.

Wasn't he a four year starter at Kent?

Originally, he enrolled at Michigan State University to play football for Nick Saban as well as basketball for Izzo. Upon enrolling, he learned that Saban wanted him to play only football. Gates then chose to pursue playing basketball by transferring to Eastern Michigan. He played there part of a season before transferring to the College of the Sequoias, a junior college in California, to focus on academics. Recruited by Stan Heath, Gates transferred to Kent State University. He played basketball for two seasons at Kent.

He should be Player of The Year in The MAC. I'm just glad he plays for Toledo.

Fletcher is a beast and a lot of fun to watch. I hope his success entices a few other big time transfers thinking about making the move.
