He's not going to redshirt.

Is there even such a thing in college bb anymore? Who was last Tiger to redshirt? Did Charles Barclay?

Pookie Powell and Chris Crawford.

He might not redshirt, but next year is the perfect year to do so.

Memphis will likely return Azab, Enoh, Thornton, Parks, and Davenport--meaning the 4/5 spots are MORE than covered.

Vanover, or any similarly situated big, wouldn't be expected to get minutes over them, and even this year Azab and Enoh are getting scraps for minutes. Is it better not to waste a year of Vanover getting 3 minutes per game?

Same for any guard not named Harris that Memphis gets (assuming it is a sub 150 recruit). There just won't me any minutes available at the 1/2 with the current play of Martin, Johnson, and Brewton (and the improved play of Malik).

I think with what we have returning we will be in the top three in the league. I think Cincinnati, Houston, Wichita State all take a step back.

I've been saying this since they started looking at him. The smart move would be to red shirt him. Would love to hear any arguments against it . . . and "it's not done anymore" isn't an argument considering it's not factually true.

FWIW, Baylor redshirted two top 100 players (Tyson Jolly (#88) and Mark Vital (#55)) in 2016-2017.

Vital is averaging 7 and 6 this year while Jolly is playing sparingly.
