A very good article explaining why the new BJCC stadium should not be simply a "Legion Field, Jr." Now we wait to see if this new stadium will indeed be a modern, fan centric venue. All my life, B'ham has built smaller and cheaper with the emphasis on cheaper. Those who remember the upper deck at Legion Field remember the massive support columns that blocked the view of the field for all who had to sit behind them and you could not see either endzone scoreboard if you were above row 45 underneath it.
Cut too many corners to make it "cheaper", and the new stadium will not be "new" at all.
