RE: MAC Tournament - men's basketball
There’s a chance we will be playing Akron at home in the first round. Back to back games with Akron could be interesting.

Not very likely actually. If we win Friday and Ball St. loses, we’ll be 4th. If Ball St. beats NIU, then we’d likely play NIU. If we lose, that obviously means Akron wins and becomes probably the the 10 seed and I don’t think we are going to fall to the 7 seed. It’s slightly possible, but the most likely slot for us is 5 vs NIU.

Your right. Akron owning tie breaker with NIU makes it unlikely.

Wouldn't it be nice to have that 19 point lead at the Stroh Center Back.

Did anyone else see John Groce make a complete ass out of himself last night at UB?

Yeah that was a strange one. But when your 15-15 and have won two games in OT, three by 1point , one by 2 and one by 3 you probably shouldn’t lament too much. We only had two close losses both by 4 points.

I agree with that, burden. And as you have pointed out more than once this season, you can't say this team doesn't make things "entertaining."

I’m talking, of course, about the Flashes, Ohio and Akron in particular. Ball State has little to no “cashew”. And the fact that our preferred team has been so up and down I think there is a belief that somehow Buffalo has peaked.

The Flashes have had their share of 'first round campus games' lately

Didn't see it but read about it. Least surprising thing I've heard today.

RE: MAC Tournament - men's basketball
informal survey:

1.) if our flashes make it to the quarterfinals in CLE, who is going?

2.) which teams do you fear the most?
consensus has been buffalo. i was worried about BSU, but they have me less concerned after losing 2 straight.

3.) any underdogs?
i can totally see BGSU or MIAMI making a run.

4.) i haven't been to the mac tournament in awhile (last time was jim christian's last year.) which schools will have the best support / cheering section?

any suggestions for cheap parking near the gund?

thanks

I will be there should the good guys make it.

Buffalo is the best team in the conference. Toledo is solid. I believe BSU is a pretender.

Western Michigan is a good dark horse, as is Kent State.

They don’t jack parking up much. 5 or 10 near bucks the arena is doable.

good to know :)

one thing we haven't talked about much:
we have quality depth. little/no drop-off from our starters to the 3 non-starters.

if we have a few guys foul out late, its not the end of the world for us.

Crowds will be interesting this year with BG, Ohio and Akron unlikely to make a run. I would guess Toledo, Kent State and maybe Buffalo will have the best support. Eastern should have support but never has.

RE: MAC Tournament - men's basketball
So if Kent wins the potential seeding is 3-6 correct? So if we dont get a bye we would be facing either NIU or Akron?

As axeme pointed out NIU would be likely since Akron has the tie breaker over NIU.

RE: MAC Tournament - men's basketball
It’s simple. If WMU wins, we are the 6 seed vs CMU. If CMU wins, we are the 5 seed vs NIU. I think we want WMU to win so we get on the 2-3 seed side of the bracket. (Toledo/EMU)

If CMU wins, we’d be on the UB/Ball St side.

Not that it makes a great deal of difference either way for a team that can beat or lose to anyone.

They can beat anybody at home, almost nobody on the road and we will see about a neutral court.

CMU still up by 12 with 2 minutes left. Looks like NIU on Monday.
