Much of this expense was funded by family & estate of former player.

Arena lighting was also brought up to date.

Well when Hawkins is complaining about facilities he must mean a new arena and practice facilities. As has been mentioned,he better put on his fundraising hat and hit the pavement.

While Hawkins certainly wants a practice facility, I have never heard him mention anything about a new arena.

Have heard him many times at fastbreak dinners or pizza parties, the arena is not the issue a PRACTICE FACILITY IS.

And there’s the problem. Social media is free and reaches millions. The fast break club is a handful of diehards who want “insider” info. 03-shhhh

Marketing is about broadening your base by being open and inclusive, and social media is one obvious venue to that. It’s not having a secret society of glad handers.

Nothing “private” about Bronco Fast Break Club. All season ticket holders are invited to join. Pizza gatherings are even open to non members.

Barring a surprising run through either the MAC or NCHC tourneys, it's been a difficult athletic year for WMU fans. No bowl game, and likely no post-season for basketball or hockey. Especially given the lofty pre-season projections for football and basketball (although injuries really plundered the former).

Typically, at least one of our three 'big' sports - football, MBB, hockey - is rocking out. But much like the Detroit pro teams, all seemed to struggle to make noise at the same time this year.

Those are like a secret society okgc. If they want to get public interest they have to get the word out to the average fan and alum. Social media has made this easier than ever.

Every new coach in G5 programs had better be ready to beat the drum for fundraising.

Hawk can't live on his "league parity" excuse much longer as why he doesn't win enough. If he wants a practice facility and locker room upgrade, he will have to get out and raise the money himself.

We have big donors sitting out there. They will pay for what they believe in...

Exactly. Both Athletically and Academically the universities in America are going to have to rely increasingly on private funds. Nothing wrong with that either, private citizens are better judges where to invest their personal Dollars than a State Government handing out confiscated wealth-otherwise known in Lansing as tax revenue.

Obviously you missed the fact that WMU now has that Beautiful new locker room.
There was even a public open house to show it off.

Uh huh.

He's not happy with it. He still wants upgrades.

I didn't miss anything.
