RE: Dropping MAC teams
None of this talk is coming from an athletic director.
If anything, the MAC has struggled to find that 13th and 14th team. Instead, we've been a revolving door for UMass, Marshall, Temple, and UCF.
It's going to be hard enough to keep the MAC together after the P5 finally takes their revenue ball and goes home anyway.

Kent State is midway between Cleveland( 22 miles) and Akron (11 miles) generally covered by Cleveland TV and Radio- 19th Media Market by Nielsen. Huntington WVA- home of Marshall - n/a... Marshall NCAA tourney appearances 5 (0-5)....sounds like an upgrade?? Kent(and Akron) are key to MAC in 19th largest TV market..sorry

Marshall averaged 21k fans last year for football. They are a proven football brand. Kent St plays in a highschool stadium for both basketball and football.

Kent and Akron are both in the Cleveland market which is #19 nice try though.
Kent was one OT away from a big bowl so again nice try.
Kent went to the Elite Eight and WMU has 1 NCAA victory. Also defending MAC champs.
WMU has one good year and that's it. Kent had one good year so it looks like we are even.
If only there was a way to determine who has a better athletic department... OH WAIT there is a way. http://www.nacda.com/directorscup/nacda-...oring.html
Director's cup rank/total points in descending order starting with 2017
Kent- 63/400, 113/151, 95/201.5, 62/351, 80/254
WMU- 174/81, 139/120, 213/50, 189/75, 257/25
It sure looks like Kent is the one bringing down the MAC with 4/5 years in the top 100 athletic departments in the nation.

WMU has been to the sweet sixteen and has 2 wins in the NCAA, but nice try! Also, I don't care what you guys almost achieved, you've been to two bowl games and still have yet to win a bowl game. And in 2012 you ended up losing to Arkansas st anyway so you couldn't have been that good. You play in a high school gymnasium and your football games hardly get any attendance. You won two games last year, you don't remember that 48-20 thrashing we put on you guys? I don't care that you guys can put together a better women's field hockey team than us. I and most people care about the revenue sports, FB, MBB, MHockey, and WBB. In that order. Your overall winning percentage for football is 32%. Have you guys ever beaten a Power 5 opponent?

RE: Dropping MAC teams
There were only 32 teams when WMU went to the "sweet sixteen" so they only won one game that year. IF you have to bring up something from 1976 in your argument then you already lost. At least keep the discussion to within the current players lifetimes. How are you going to bring up something from 40 years ago... I mean seriously 40 years... twice the age of most players... Im sure this years recruits were highly impressed that when their parents were in college WMU won a tourny game and back when they were born WMU was in the sweet sixteen. Minds will be blown and LOI's will be signed that very moment.
The MACC has a capacity of 6327... University Arena is 5421...
Despite coming off WMU best season in school history WMU averaged 2,600 more fans a game than Kent who was coming off of 3-9 season and being dreadfully awful. You are not making WMU look very good.

How about instead of nit picking statistics, you figure out how to get more than 12 people to show up to your football games. #FCS

We have George Gervin, so everyone else's argument is irrelevant.
