Spring practice, day 1
Interview posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ94-ZMu...e=youtu.be

Interesting points:
-Wassink is good to go.
-Eleby and Goddard battling for backup QB so far.
-Still a lot of lingering injuries: Bogan/Bellamy/Tucker/Novo/Balabani/Ginwright/Tranquill. Didn't mention Falcon injury at at HB, so a good sign?
-Sounds like no doubt Tranquill will be back though
-Ricci moved to TE: well, there's your answer to WR logjam and the need for a pass-catching TE.
-Lester said the passing game was noticeably better with everyone healthy and Wassink back.
-Wesley French back on defense again! Did we lose some more players at DT?
-Lester said he's always been offensive playcaller in previous HC stints, so expect that not to change moving forward.

Interesting stuff.

Ricci to TE is weird. Certainly gives some speed and hands to the position.

French back on D? The guy can't stay in one place! And I don't know how he's supposed to beat out Clark/Williams/Aguirre/Finley/Jackson/Holley/Lance/Taylor for any kind of playing time on the defensive interior.

Maybe I shouldn't spread rumors if Lester didn't address.

No, all he said was we're young. I hoped he was being a little aloof, but now as I check the 2018 roster, players I see missing:

Clark!!!
Daniel Jackson

Ouch. At least we still have Ken Finley, but French is pretty much in the two-deep at this point.

Only two missing from the roster. What gives? He's still Twittering out spring conditioning videos. I hope it's not injury or health related.

Oh wow, they must have just updated the roster. No Clark or Jackson. That definitely hurts then.

What happened? Clark was set for a huge senior year.

I hope Mr. Clark is OK healthwise! This seems like a sudden turn of events and was really looking forward to watching him do his thing for his senior season. Wish we had a beat writer to ask the questions and let us all know what happened and that at least he is doing OK...

He has a history. If it’s related, he has to take care of himself. huge loss for this team though, obviously.

Man, my heart aches for that young man and it must be devastating. But glad he will be able to stay involved with the team and get his degree. No doubt he'll have huge success outside of football.

It's okay. Still working with the team in a different role. One that I hope will continue once he graduates.

That's too bad, glad he's still involved, and he certainly didn't lack fighting spirit!

Was an absolute monster last season for us. Watch the film, he was almost unblockable. Major loss on the field, here is to hoping he can have a coaching impact.

Hey, Brindlee...Once a Bronco, ALWAYS a Bronco! We've been honored to add you and Steven to the Bronco Family. Very sorry to hear that we won't see him crushing running backs this year, but so glad to know that he will still be a huge part of the program.

I'm glad he gets to stick around and still have an impact on the program. He'll get the chance to coach up these younger guys. I want to see some more beastly interior D-line play!

I also thought it was going to be fun to watch Clark play against his former team in the opening game this year.

This young man now gets to work with some great men on the coaching staff - seeing the other side of things. This could be great for his long term career, if he wants to go into coaching.

We will always appreciate his sacrifices for the Broncos!
