does not mean we don't have anything to play for. This week the Coogs have to defend their home field. Let's extend our winning streak in Robertson's to 3 with a victory over Tulane!!!

Robertson's where the visitors fear to tred!!!!!

Eat'em up Coogs!!!

A three game home winning streak ain't nothing to sneeze at.

I am just hoping that Coach Briles will be a little less predictiable in his schemes next year and that someone gives our defensive coaches a copy of "Defense for Dummies" to use next year.

I had been somewhat negative about the results of this season in my previous post, but upon further review this season has been much more productive than the results reveal.

I look at the young players that were able to get experience this year and its clear the coogs will be down-right scarry next year. Offensively Kolb will be a junior w/ 2 years starting experience. The backfield will be scarry ... Evans, Battle, Harold Taylor, I assume Gilbert will have to move to fb to get everyone on the field. All receivrs will return. Almost all OL return and will be experienced.

Defensively, we'll lose Joe Clay, Everson, and Routt ... but everyone else will be back. The linebackers will be ridiculously athletic ... Koehl, Pahulu, and Brown ... speed, speed, and more speed!!!

I know everyone right now is thinking UTEP will win the west ... but their senior losses are much more signifigant than ours. SMU won't improve signifigantly enough to challenge, Tulsa will be replacing their QB and doesn't have the talent on either side of the ball that we do, and Rice is graduating practically their entire offense. I think Tulane will surprise people next year but we're already beter than them and we're only improving with experience.

I know its early to start talking next year but looking at our roster it's so obvious who will be running things in the future.

 (must not have gotten that memo)

I don't think the West will be the cakewalk they're expecting.

You must be hanging out on the main board anymore.

This UTEP fan named charles is having the time of his life predicting that UTEP will be the best team in the west. All the fans from the east schools seem to agree as well.

Here is my opinion

Houston - We will be a year more experienced and very very very hard to beat. As long as the coaches build on the positives that have popped up since we played Southern Miss, I know we will be better next year.

Rice - Will be well coached even if they do not have the athletes everyone else does. I do not expect them to roll over for anyone and we saw earlier this year that a well coached team can beat a team that is looking at them as an easy victory.

SMU - On the rise, but still a year away from making noise in the division.

Tulane - Will be better and more consistant next year. They are an extremely young team as well and will have more experience next year.

Tulsa - Will be better. Don't know what is causing their problems but I think their coach is too good to let it go on for long.

UTEP - Will be good. Price is a good coach, but how long will he remain at UTEP before the BCS comes a calling to make him an offer that he can't refuse.

The west will not be a cake walk like everyone is predicting and I like the Coogs chances of coming out on top.

I know. Doesn't mean I buy it. 03-wink

I think your analysis is pretty much on target. The Coogs should have a decent shot next year. 04-cheers
