Maybe because most evangelicals had a life before they found God. Now that I'm old and "saved" I just wish that I had been saved a long time ago. But, thankfully I've changed that's the important thing and that's something you Liberals will never understand. It's called repentance and it's a 180 degree turn from the old self. I married my wife 28 years ago and I've known her for 29 and still being young when I married her I have been true to her. That's what God asks of us...in other words no cheating. Evangelicals aren't angels, we know that but we also know that we have been forgiven. Perhaps that's what happened to Trump, he did the 180 too.

I don't see any reason to make this suggestion.

Evangelicals will turn on an evangelical politician who has an affair...because it lets opponents paint THEM as hypocrites. Trump is not an evangelical politician. They don't feel that his shenanigans are a betrayal of THEIR reputation.

Democrats don't really understand evangelicals, or their outlook. This is why they keep throwing this sort of stuff against the wall and get confuzzled when it doesn't have the effect they desire.
