This Saturday the ODU women's basketball team will face off against the University of Texas El-Paso Miners. This is also the team's pink game, which is traditionally the biggest crowd of adults for any home game. After what we saw on Wednesday's performance, this game should be fun.

After 16 years at UTEP, head coach Keitha Adams decided to return to her home to be the head coach of Wichita State. Her right hand, assosciate head coach Ewa Laskowska also joined Keitha's staff to begin their 19th year of working together. The new head coach is Kevin Baker. He has coached both Division 2 and Division 3, as well as high school basketball. Over the last two years at Division 2 Angelo State he was a combined 50-14.

I have a feeling that Nikki will have the Ladies back to national prominence in a fews years.

The women won in OT after outscoring UTEP 15-4 in the 4th quarter. Methinks Nikki can coach a bit.

Funny how quickly they've gone from blowing 4th quarter leads to making 4th quarter comebacks. Did the conditioning finally kick in or did the coach make endgame strategy adjustments?

I think they are definitely better conditioned. They have gotten used to the heavy minutes. Nikki only played 7 today and you could see UTEP was worn out in the 4th. That allowed the run to win the game. That was a gutsy, gritty win. Much of the game, it looked like it just wasn't our day. Nothing seemed to be going right. They finally found their stride and then really turned on the jets. This game was total opposite of the Hampton game. You have to really wonder what Karen could have gotten out of the same group? 2 wins? 3?
