OFFENSIVE LINE FOR 2018
I keep looking at what we have on the OL for 2018 and wonder if I am missing something. It looks to me like this could be the best returning set of lineman we have had in a very, very long time. I highlighted all the guys with significant game experience.
56 Chandler Cotterman OL 6-3 296 Jr. Anna, Ohio / Anna
57 Brandon Heidecker OL 6-6 312 Jr. Columbia Station, Ohio / Columbia
58 Cameron Bell OL 6-8 345 Jr. Sagamore Hills, Ohio / Nordonia
61 Kelvin Ateman OL 6-6 315 So. Detroit, Mich. / Cass Tech
62 Jordan Fair OL 6-4 282 Jr. Mason, Ohio / William Mason
63 Woodford Lankford OL 6-4 270 So. Paris, Ky. / Lexington Catholic Central
65 Luke Doerger OL 6-3 285 So. Cincinnati, Ohio / La Salle
67 Sami Kassem OL 6-4 320 Sr. Cincinnati, Ohio / Indian Hills
68 Mitchell Berg OL 6-6 305 So. Maumee, Ohio / St. John's Jesuit
69 Kedonis Haslem OL 6-5 290 So. Miami, Fla. / St. Thomas Aquinas
70 Roderick Peterson OL 6-3 280 Sr. Taylor, Mich. / Truman
72 Bryce Harris OL 6-3 285 Jr. Akron, Ohio / Firestone
78 Yazeed Atariwa OL 6-4 315 Sr. Sterling, Va. / Dominion
Conner Ashman OL 6-2 285 R-Fr. Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green
Josh Fenn OL So. Lorain, Ohio / Lorain
Brock Ruble OL 6-8 325 Sr.
Once again, we win the MAC with a hobbled OL, and now we have a number of guys coming back with game experience. This doesn't include some of the highly touted freshmen who may be fighting for a starting spot. We essentially have game experience that is 2-deep for every position.
Can you imagine a line with Cameron Bell 6-8, 345 and Brock Ruble (FSU grad transfer) 6-8 325, along with Atariwa 6-4, 315, Bryce Harris (likely the best center) 6-3, 285 and Heidecker 6-6, 312. That would average 6-6 and 316.
We should be able to run the ball.
