My guess is that the NPR writer actually thought silver was first place. Athletics are as foreign to a NPR journalist as kombucha is to Spin Room conservatives.

Relax guys. First off let me say I DO NOT care for NPR at all.

But, as someone who worked in the media industry, I can tell you that all websites, newspapers and such put together several different stories and headlines before the event is even held. That way they can be nimble and quickly get the story out. So I'm guessing they uploaded the wrong story. I was at a newspaper for many years and we always had stuff ready to go depending on the outcome. Not an excuse for mistakes though. And I also agree with the other poster that said NPR blows when it comes to sports, they don't have a clue...lol.

Yes, they obviously published it early and that is a logical explanation, but no excuse. That was reckless reporting.

you realize that this dipshite is actually in south korea on the government dime for the specific purpose of covering the olympics and still effed it up. he was probably too busy kissing rocket mans sisters ass to actually do his job
