I was hoping we also could have lured John Rosenberg onto the staff ala Coombs. Sounds like he just took a new HC job at a HS in Indy.

We are taking this city back and claiming what is rightfully ours. I love it.

Bohn was lined up well before Rosfeld got the job.

I do think Rosfeld will help.

As a Moeller Alum was happy to see Rodenburg move on

It appears that he is going to Lawrence Central. Do you think he will funnel any players our way? It seemed like Butch Jones recruited Indy a lot heavier than the golfer.

Based on his history he will likely funnel them to B10 schools.

Not to derail this into another Kerry Coombs thread, but the only reason Jones recruited Indy so well was because of KC. Coombs coached there for a stretch early in his career and had a lot of contacts at Warren Central, Pike and Ben Davis. Tuberville only recruited one scholarship player out of Indy (Gerrid Doaks- who ironically went to Lawrence Central).

I imagine if a player is good enough, this staff will be on it. They're big on recruiting within the 100 mile radius of campus. I also think they'll continue to recruit heavily in Illinois and in GA/FL/other parts of the South based on some connections coaches have in those regions.

RJ Potts was out of Indy, so this staff is looking into that area.

Thanks for the insight. That's kind of surprising considering he is a UC grad.

Not positive but I could've sworn I saw Rodenberg's son on our sideline this year. No clue what his role is, but I'm pretty sure it was him.

Interesting now he will hope to keep public school kids from ending up at Cathedral and Chatard. Cathedral is just a mile or so down 56th Street from LC.

According to Rivals, Rodenberg had 34 players commit to D-1 schools (32 at Moeller, 1 at CovCath, 1 at McNick). They went to:

5 - Michigan State
2 - Notre Dame, Ohio State, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Ohio U., Western Michigan, Miami (OH)
1 each - Air Force, Ball State, Boston College, Buffalo, Georgia State, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), Navy, Northwestern, ODU, Penn State, Pitt, Wisconsin

Of those, 18 had offers to UC:
4 - Michigan State (2 of these ended up in the NFL - Marcus Rush and Greg Jones)
2 - Notre Dame, Ohio State, Cincinnati,
1 - Air Force, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), Northwestern, Penn State, Pitt, Wisconsin

Of course, UC missed out on Rodenberg's first and arguably best recruit because we didn't offer him: Bryan Cupito (from McNick) ended up becoming Minnesota's all-time leading passer at QB.

Considering Fickell's kid goes to Big Moe, I think we have that covered.
