Home crowd for WSU
Not to look past the Houston game, which I think will actually be the tougher of the 2 games. But am wondering what kind of crowd everyone is expecting for the WSU game. I know the game is "sold out", but most of the sellout games at BBT this year have been about 3/4 full. I'm thinking with us in the top 5 and the Shockers coming into town, that we get our first "full capacity" crowd.

Also, does anyone know if we will be breaking out the UC court for this game. I am pretty sure the Norse play on Saturday, so should be time to swap out the courts.

Saturday is the Final home game for NKU men, NKU Women final home game is next Monday at 5pm. I would think they would have the UC court out since this is the biggest game of the year to date, plus ESPN

Wasn't the court originally supposed to be swapped out for nearly every game? I remember reading that on here anyway.

I remember seeing that, too. Thought that quote was attributed to Bohn, but I can't find it after a quick search.

And I think the answer ended up being that UC will pay to swap it out for games on bigger networks. At least, that's what the practice seems to be so far. It's sort of rubbed me the wrong way given how special this season has been. But if it's a money issue, I understand.

I saw that they were swapping it out when the schedule permitted it. He hoped to do it for every game but that was dependent on the NKU men's and women's bball schedules.

My point is that was lip service.

In quickly comparing the schedules, there was no NKU home game (men's or women's) from Jan 29 to Feb 8. UC had two home games during that stretch (Houston and UCF), and we still played on NKU's court - even considering there was a 48 hour window in between each of our games and the next NKU game. Plenty of time to swap the courts.

Good catch; I've wondered about that too. It's not the end of the world but I think we were sold a bill of goods on the frequency the 'Cats would play on the red and black floor.

Attendance has been a bit strange as well. First we heard season tickets were sold out. Later, I recall mini-plans were sold out. Yet there are seats for sale on game day and plenty that are unoccupied. Although I have to say the crowds look pretty grand compared to conference mate Houston in their (nearly empty) home away from home.

Let's have this team be the first to win a national championship without ever playing a game in its home state! That would become an all-time great sports trivia question for generations to come.

We played one game in Norwood.

With respect to the home court, I've heard that NKU has not been as cooperative with the floor arrangement as originally hoped. It takes ~24 hours to take one floor down and put the other up. Apparently the Norse are not keen on practicing on our court so practice time also is a factor.

I always thought they practiced at the old Millet Hall. Maybe do shoot arounds at BBT.

Mick said they have never practiced at BB&T outside of pregame.

NKU is allowed to practice until 2 hours before tip, which is why some games their court is down when there’s an open window

I was referring to NKU practice time. If NKU has a practice scheduled before or after one of our games they want to do it on their floor. I think that is a factor in why they just leave the NKU floor up.

I don't think the NKU floor deal is as big of a deal as many think. Most casual fans and observers aren't looking at the floor. All they are looking at are the players and how many people we have in the stands.

We played a game in Norwood OH that all of us would like to forget.

Agreed. And I'm probably not showing that agreement by commenting on this thread three separate times, but there are some other effects. How many highlights from this year's home games will be featured on future video compilations if NKU's branding is littered throughout? Our pictures/videos/posts on social media look awkward for a top ten historic program launching back into the national spotlight for the first time in over a decade.

Yes, they're probably lame reasons at the end of the day, and hopefully no one remembers what court was down during what game at the end of the year. My biggest gripe is we were sold one thing and delivered another. This was something that could have (and should have) been ironed out before the first game. Don't make me go all Allen Iverson and ask if we're really just talking about practice.

I never notice the floor, and I don't really care. Seems like this has been talked about so many times this season, and i bet the only people who really care are the ones who check this board daily.

The graphics, artwork, and highlights look no different than if one of our players had a huge play at an away game. If people tune into one of our games the announcers talk about the renovations, and BB&T being a temporary home every game, and often multiple times.

This has no effect on how people look at our team, and will quickly be forgotten by casual fans, and the national public in a year.

Maybe the school planned to use our floor more often, and things changed...It means nothing.
