I hope he remembers what his cohorts Darrin Horn and Dennis Felton went through, when they went "bigtime".

But he is getting older and now might be his chance. He cannot be too happy with our lack of big attendance.

I thought we've already been down this road with Kermit and P5 rumors? Seems like he's a family dude and a good guy who doesn't want to leave a program that's been loyal to him over the last decade.

In my opinion, he would be foolish not to entertain a couple of offers........... maybe just to get our townfolk, alumni, and students off their arses --- they won't know what they were missing until he's gone.

I would insist for further upgrades to Murphy Center and more marketing presence if I were Kermit and stayed at MT.

Imagine a universe in which a UTEP-Charlotte game pits two teams with a combined conference record of 3-21. Couldn't be. Must be some sort of Mandela effect thing.

RE: Feb 15 and 17 basketball games
A couple of years ago he got a nice bump to his salary.

Last year he got an extension and more money for his staff.

This year I expect he may use this to get both plus facilities upgrades. Though the upgrades are already in the plans as we are expecting them to announce officially sometime this spring. Here is a thread on the planned upgrades with video.

One thing that is not currently clear is that for years there has been discussion of removing the Indoor Track and bleachers in MC and renovating the arena to include new executive suites on the upper level. That might be another point of leverage that Kermit would work to get for staying.

That's exactly the reason I'm glad that Hamrick didn't go hire a real young assistant. At Marshall unless they would have ties to Marshall they would most likely do the same thing.

People, especially the so called ESPN talking heads thought that Dan was a horrible hire. Dan has basically built Marshall from the ground up and it was done mainly through HS and international players.

Dan knows how to develop players also, he worked with Austin Loop to give him the 3 point shot he had. He has basically turned Ajdin Penava into the most improved player in the NCAA. He has went from 6.1 points per game and 1.2 blocks to 17.2 points per game to 4.8 blocks per game.

You have no argument from me. Marshall whipped our arse in Huntington.

We are 38-2 in our last 40 games against conference opponents (counting the tournament). Marshall and UTEP are our losses.

We’ve got Marshall and WKU at home and we’re overdue. My prediction? Rice doubles its conference win total this week by sweeping two unsuspecting top tier squads.

That would be great!

Rice has been close in some games. We play with no intensity on the road. At least we haven’t since the ODU game. Very little intensity at home. LOSS.

We leave Texas with an Oh-Fer this weekend.

That would be great!

ODU is 10.5 point favorites. I have historically been wrong on here but I think this is another good bet against ODU. Especially if Porter is out with the flu.

I'd be surprised if you lost either game. We played poorly in that trip and managed to eek out wins in both games and I believe you have a more talented team. We'll see.

Don't stop predicting us to lose now, it's been working for us so far. 04-cheers

Do we know when Porter came down with it? At least a couple days ago, hopefully they gave him some Tamiflu and it's close to having run it's course. Still wouldn't expect him to be 100% if he plays, the flu will sap your energy even after you've recovered. If he can play a few minutes it'll be good. Carver is nowhere near the scoring presence that Porter is but he's a good enough defender rebounder to stand in, along with Brandon. We'll need the guards to pick up the slack in scoring though.

UTSA is talented but young. I'm hoping the unfriendly environment at the Ted coupled with our physical defense throws the young players. I haven't watched them play but have heard their freshman are impressive. But they're still freshman, we need to get all up in their space and their heads. Continuing the shooting spree from the last game would help a lot as well. I'm predicting a Monarch win. 75-67

Right! Just to be clear, I just don't think we cover 10.5 points. Even in your prediction, you don't think so either. But for good juju... yeah we are definitely gonna lose this one..........

AC has been great in short spurts, now he is given the opportunity to show it in a full game. I have a good feeling about him tonight, just being solid, might not get a lot of flashy stats, but he's going to be solid down low.

Without looking at stats, I feel like Brandon's offense has picked up in recent games as well.
