Not to mention the fact that WSU was as high as #2 themselves and receiving first place votes a mere 4 years ago.

Oops, also forgot WSU was #3 this year.

Definitely uncharted territory. 07-coffee3

I did not know that... this explains why payday keeps coming back for more after receiving loads of backdoor punishment.

Did you hear this Coog fans? A meal, a drink, a nimble Asian woman on a unicycle flipping dishes on top of her coconut...

Get to the game!

sigh.

You guys realize this doesn't get broadcast out like radio waves or some giant loudspeaker over the city of Houston, so don't you guys understand how goofy it looks to see y'all constantly preaching to the choir because I'm fairly certain that practically all the Coog fans on this site that live in Houston, actually attend the games.

Anyways, I guess its not like my harping on it is gonna slow y'alls roll either.

If this is the same chick I've seen before, she rocks!

RE: Congratulations Houston Basketball!
Sadly, our attendance this year hasn't been that bad relatively speaking. I was super worried about playing at TSU because while their arena is close to campus, it's off the beaten path a bit and deeper in the Third Ward which many Houstonians still believe is a war zone (instead of a neighborhood gentrifying very quickly with half a million dollar new builds going up next to TSU).

The one thing missing this year has been the students. Outside of a handful of games, their attendance has been virtually non-existant other than the spirit groups.

We only averaged 1,000 off campus when Moody was revamped. The new arena and winning team will energize the base next year

If Houston wins by not having the refs interfere it will have to be 50/50. And Houston and Wichita never met.

i know brother. it's hard to win when the refs give the other team thirty points. you can overcome a lot of things, but the refs erasing a twenty point lead is not one of them. the best you can do is continue to complain about it

thats such foolish logic...
warriors are up 20 on the cavs...but half time the refs have kd, draymond and Iguodala with 4 fouls eachs on a ton of extremely questionable fouls...draymond fouls out as soon at the second half starts, kd fouled out mid 3rd..and iguodala cant play d like he wants because of the foul trouble..those are the warriors best 3 defenders..and the cavs come back and win it..how can you not say the refs played a big part?????

you didnt come back till the foul trouble....watch the game on youtube.. you couldnt score a single post point, all your points were from Washington and Clark shootings open 3s becuase our bigs werent expecting them to shoot it...then ALL our bigs get in foul trouble and you comeback almost exclusively on uncontested dunks and post points, but you dont think foul trouble played into it????

One thing I've learned about coach Sampson through these few short years the man can flat out coach and recruit... If Cincinnati thinks they can come to Houston and steal a W they're going to have to earn it.

Sampson has done a fabulous job while here in Houston and he isn't done, he's still recruiting/stacking up his style of players... Sampson boys will be ready vs the cats... Question is will Cincinnati bring their A game?!? We'll know come Thursday I guess... No excuses.

Being honest, I think UH wins Thurs. night by 5 or so, nothing to be ashamed of for UC, UH is pretty damn good. But it will not put WSU in control because they have Zero chance of beating UC up here. Good Day.

Before the season started I said Cincy was the class of the conference and many mocked me for saying they are better than WSU. IMO, Cincy might be the most complete team the country. When you can defend like they do, and score, no one wants that matchup.

psst, just between you and me, Wichita also has a game Thursday, against a team they haven't beat yet. UH/UC may not matter.

Many would be the entire national media and voters.

We'll see how complete they are this weekend when they go up against a National Power that also happens to have the best road record in the country over the last half decade or so. Cincy should get our best shot this weekend, and if so, will be light years away from what people have seen us play like recently. It should look like an NCAA game with typical NCAA results - we win - our opponent loses. We've got the horses, all we've got to do is bring it. Cincy scares me very little if we just give our normal tournament effort. This game is important for seeding and pride so I think they will need little prodding from the coaching staff.

If your bigs weren't expecting Clark and Washington to shoot open 3s then maybe they should listen to the scouting report. Both are over 41% on the year from 3.

UC actually came back and won the game because they stopped turning the ball over. UC had 8 turnovers the first 13 minutes of the game and only 1 the last 27 minutes. Once Evans, Cumberland and Broome woke up and stopped handing the ball to Houston, UC carved them up like a Turkey.

UC won the last 27 minutes 65-37, but yeah it was only because of foul trouble to a couple of big men that play less than 15 minutes per game...

Didn't the AAC coaches vote UC first? Maybe they know more about AAC basketball than the national media and voters. Results seem to reinforce that.
