MyBB Congratulations Houston Basketball!
It's been a long time coming but it appears you're headed for a great season. Shocker fans appreciate that you continued to win making our loss look less retarded with each passing day. In fact, I'm now going to revise my estimate of your hand in our loss from 10% to 30% percent. That's right, as of this evening, you are officially responsible for nearly 1/3 of the reason we gave one up to you in Ozone City. 03-2thumbsup

With that out of the way...

I'm going to consider us friends from here on out. Since we've become good friends, I need to ask you one little favor... I need you to take care of business this Thursday against the Uglycats. Will you do that for me? You do your part on Thursday and we'll do ours on Sunday. 04-cheers

Here's to the new Coog/Shocker alliance! 04-high5

RE: Congratulations Houston Basketball!
I would suspect some local Shocker fans will be in attendance and they will be firmly on the Coog's side.

Let's pack that building all the way to the rafters. If you can finish what you started up in Chili City (when you had yUCk down 20) by stepping on their throat this time it would really be helpful.

We'll take care of the rest! 05-mafia

We've been on the bubble before, probably about 6-8 times in the last 13 years. Wait until Selection Sunday to give congrats.

you missed the point of his post...he isnt congratulating us..

he is jokingly congratulating us because if we beat UC on Thursday Wichita is back in control of their own destiny for the conference championship...

its more of a pep talk about beating uc

also we have been on this side of the bubble in 13 years..we've been on the other-side a ton, needing 1 more big win to get over the hump and falling short..this is the first time we just need to win the games we were supposed to..no upsets needed

Cincinnati has two real tough games coming up... One vs Houston and one vs Wichita State.

One thing I've learned about coach Sampson through these few short years the man can flat out coach and recruit... If Cincinnati thinks they can come to Houston and steal a W they're going to have to earn it.

Sampson has done a fabulous job while here in Houston and he isn't done, he's still recruiting/stacking up his style of players... Sampson boys will be ready vs the cats... Question is will Cincinnati bring their A game?!? We'll know come Thursday I guess... No excuses.

Question about the game on Thursday - are the general admission seats good seats? Is it just first-come-first-served for basically the entire arena? And how early do people get there to secure good seating?

I'm looking forward to coming down to the game - should be a good one.

The entire side where the TV cams are located is Gen Admin, so get there early enough (we're talking about 30 minutes before game time here. haha!) and you can select wherever. Be aware that the uppermost 5 or 6 rows in the center section are roped off (so that people can't block the view of the game if they stand up I'm surmising), so you can't sit there.
On the opposite side - the side that you see on TV - the center section is reserved seating and the gen admin is on the sides of that.

RE: Congratulations Houston Basketball!
Every seat is general admission beyond the floor seats and the gray chair backed seats (about the first 6-8 rows along the baseline). That lets you know what our season ticket base was this year...

There's a section reserved for students and one for the Cougar Brass but other than that, first come/first seat. For some reason, we put the band, cheer, dance, and students where the camera doesn't pick them up much. I guess that's a good thing because the student section has been full (ish) twice (Arkansas and Wichita).

I'd expect a fairly big crowd since we're an event city and hosting UC will be an event. The only warning I'd give is the seats behind the baskets are pretty far back. Not sure why TSU built the arena that way but there's two rows of floor seats, then 10 feet or so of dead space before the grandstand starts to rise.

No it's not. The 2008 team was in but kept losing to teams they weren't supposed to, firstly ECU and then to UTEP in the conference tournament. The 2006 team clinched an at-large bid in November but kept losing to Rice, UCF, South Alabama and others. The 2005 team also had one set to a lesser extent (they got in position, then 0-fered).

I've seen them flirt before, they have to finish before I get overjoyed.

If Houston wins by not having the refs interfere it will have to be 50/50. And Houston and Wichita never met.

A clean beating without the aid of water bottle chucking and I can go 55/45.

Just bring the same effort against Ugly that you brought against us and you will be golden.

Start calling your friends, family, old girlfriends/baby mamas and inviting them to Thursday's game NOW! Don't wait until the last minute.

Thank you.

And all the time CB said that the AAC was garbage, and that it didn't really matter whether the Shackers won the conference championship, because, by golly, they are a "national program" (i.e. "legends in their own minds"), and the Shackers only are concerned about the NCAA tourney. Now CB, ensconced in his Mother's basement, is pining to puff up Houston's attendance, because all of a sudden, a game that the Shackers aren't even playing in is of mega importance. Sad.

This is awkward, but you do realize that the UH/UC outcome is irrelevant since the Shockers are losing on Thursday?

2/10

Just trying to keep the dream alive of righting the wrong that is WSU not winning this unremarkable conference. America is watching and America voted that WSU would win the AAC easily. We've let America down and I'm a patriotic person. At this point I'm just scrambling for the old Red, White, and Blue.

Just think! After Cincy whips UH and WSU this week...WSU will likely host the AP #1 at home this year. Never see that in the MVC.

0/10

Never wanting to be called one that won't give a brotha a hand when he's down...

...the bulk of UC's time in the #1 spot came while they were members of the MVC (in the 60's).
