We'll see how complete they are this weekend when they go up against a National Power that also happens to have the best road record in the country over the last half decade or so. Cincy should get our best shot this weekend, and if so, will be light years away from what people have seen us play like recently. It should look like an NCAA game with typical NCAA results - we win - our opponent loses. We've got the horses, all we've got to do is bring it. Cincy scares me very little if we just give our normal tournament effort. This game is important for seeding and pride so I think they will need little prodding from the coaching staff.

You may have a point about that. Very little of the media know about AAC basketball because... it really doesn't move the needle nationally to put things nicely. With a comparable RPI to the Missouri Valley, the AAC has a long way to go.

The National college basketball consciousness has seen enough of Wichita State over the last 7 years or so to know what they bring to the tournament table - more than enough firepower for this league. We've disappointed everyone except for our AAC opponents with how we've played this year. Hopefully we're turning things around now. We'll see soon enough.

If Houston wins by not having the refs interfere it will have to be 50/50. And Houston and Wichita never met.

i know brother. it's hard to win when the refs give the other team thirty points. you can overcome a lot of things, but the refs erasing a twenty point lead is not one of them. the best you can do is continue to complain about it

thats such foolish logic...
warriors are up 20 on the cavs...but half time the refs have kd, draymond and Iguodala with 4 fouls eachs on a ton of extremely questionable fouls...draymond fouls out as soon at the second half starts, kd fouled out mid 3rd..and iguodala cant play d like he wants because of the foul trouble..those are the warriors best 3 defenders..and the cavs come back and win it..how can you not say the refs played a big part?????

you didnt come back till the foul trouble....watch the game on youtube.. you couldnt score a single post point, all your points were from Washington and Clark shootings open 3s becuase our bigs werent expecting them to shoot it...then ALL our bigs get in foul trouble and you comeback almost exclusively on uncontested dunks and post points, but you dont think foul trouble played into it????

If your bigs weren't expecting Clark and Washington to shoot open 3s then maybe they should listen to the scouting report. Both are over 41% on the year from 3.

UC actually came back and won the game because they stopped turning the ball over. UC had 8 turnovers the first 13 minutes of the game and only 1 the last 27 minutes. Once Evans, Cumberland and Broome woke up and stopped handing the ball to Houston, UC carved them up like a Turkey.

UC won the last 27 minutes 65-37, but yeah it was only because of foul trouble to a couple of big men that play less than 15 minutes per game...

You just don't understand JFlight. If the refs hadn't prevented us from turning the ball over and missing our shots, we wouldn't have come back.

To be fair again, I think the Coogs have been as much of a surprise to the upside as the Shocks have been to the downside. I'm happy for Houston fans (all 100 of them 03-nutkick 03-lmfao). Our loss was hopefully your gain. But it's late in the season now and the Play Angry kids need to get back into tournament form. We've suffered enough embarrassment this year.

It's a pre-congratulation for their "up and coming" team on beating Cincy best team of the last few decades.

UC won the last 27 minutes 65-37, but yeah it was only because of foul trouble to a couple of big men that play less than 15 minutes per game...

as far as the big shooting..they are 41% shooters but they rarely shot that many times...even in the game the announcers was talking about how they shot 1 a game.. i dont think anyone was expecting them to shoot that much...but im okay with that...if we have to give those up im fine..like i said we were fine giving you those big men 3s..as

and who do you think was causing those turnovers...watch any game from houston this year...they always talk about how houston is creating a ton of turnovers..every team we play create vast amounts of turnovers because we are physical

saying your guys just figured it out immediately when our guys got in foul trouble is a coincidence you cant believe unless you are being biased

you guys keep bringing up points that validate mine...im saying the full trouble altered how we could play, we are a physical team..so a drastic changes of up 18 to a 65-37 run is indicative of a change, for something that drastic...
(if it was the same kind of production throughout the game, that validates your point, because they were producing with or without change)

i think you guys are thinking im saying it was the calls that cost us the game (those specific plays).. im not saying that at all..im saying it was the foul trouble/fouling out that affected the game...
houston is bottom 30 shortest teams in the ncaa, arguably the shortest starting line up (6'1,6'0, 6'1 6'6,6'8)..remove our physicality and our flaws come out

I don't know about Ollie's Natty, but we've shown that we are consistently good every year and a legitimate threat to go deep. We are a far cry from a flash in the pan. We also currently have an AP Coach of the Year winner leading our team that has turned down more offers than Scarlett Johansson.

UC is 12-0 23-2. Name a school with a better record. Those that criticize UC basketball are arguing AGAINST facts. You know what they say about those people?

The AAC could have a national champion in the football and basketball and be competitive in baseball. Even the jealous ones on this board would benefit.

AAC rising!

How has Ollie's national championship helped UConn right now? We've been getting odds in Vegas for winning the national championship since 2013. We were like 12:1 just a couple years ago.

I don't know where this discussion about UConn fits into my original comment that the national media is fully aware of what Wichita State is all about and what they can do in the tournament. This is why they voted us preseason top 10.

What have they done that would trump the national title UConn won while in the AAC?

I don't know about Ollie's Natty, but we've shown that we are consistently good every year and a legitimate threat to go deep. We are a far cry from a flash in the pan. We also currently have an AP Coach of the Year winner leading our team that has turned down more offers than Scarlett Johansson.

None of which equates to a national championship.

"You may have a point about that. Very little of the media know about AAC basketball because... it really doesn't move the needle nationally to put things nicely. With a comparable RPI to the Missouri Valley, the AAC has a long way to go."

This comment seems to indicate no one knew about AAC basketball prior to Wichita States arrival. Given the conference had a team win a national championship already that seems odd to me.

While you are right, UC has been #1 more than you might think.

The list:

1. UC-------45 times-------26( 1960s)--------19 other times
2. UCONN--29 times-------18( 2000s)--------11 other times
3. UH-------11 times--------8( 1960s)----------3 other times
4. UM--------6 times--------5( 2000s)----------1 other time
5. Temple---6 times--------6( 1980s)
6. WSU------1 time----------1(1964)

If you want to get into amount of trips to the NCAA tourney, final fours, elite eights, sweet sixteens, etc., it makes you look even more foolish to talk about yourselves as a treasured national power.

There is an unspoken rule that applies to how long you can offer a smack talk rebuttal. You sir are outside that window.

If Houston wins by not having the refs interfere it will have to be 50/50. And Houston and Wichita never met.

i know brother. it's hard to win when the refs give the other team thirty points. you can overcome a lot of things, but the refs erasing a twenty point lead is not one of them. the best you can do is continue to complain about it

thats such foolish logic...
warriors are up 20 on the cavs...but half time the refs have kd, draymond and Iguodala with 4 fouls eachs on a ton of extremely questionable fouls...draymond fouls out as soon at the second half starts, kd fouled out mid 3rd..and iguodala cant play d like he wants because of the foul trouble..those are the warriors best 3 defenders..and the cavs come back and win it..how can you not say the refs played a big part?????

you didnt come back till the foul trouble....watch the game on youtube.. you couldnt score a single post point, all your points were from Washington and Clark shootings open 3s becuase our bigs werent expecting them to shoot it...then ALL our bigs get in foul trouble and you comeback almost exclusively on uncontested dunks and post points, but you dont think foul trouble played into it????

well you got that going for you at least
