Deja Vu! UAB vs. Kentucky in St. Louis.
Nope,,,Mo's shot in the UAB vs KY win wasnt in St Louis, Unfortunately, we drove home from Columbus the morning after the win against Washington, figuring we didnt stand a chance against KY. At least the amazing game ( thanks to Mo, the Taylor twins and other memorable plays by the rest of our guys ) was seen by my crew and the nation on TV.
Ouch! Not sure I would have admitted that bit of info. Haha!
Yeah, Im still lamenting that choice. Ive only had the pleasure of seeing them win 2 NCAA games in person and have , unfortunatly, observed way more NIT/NCAA and other conference and preseason tourney losses on the road.
One of the greatest weekends of my life. The UDub win was a spectacular game.
Both teams played great, we just made plays late. When Squeaky hit a long heave of a 3 as the shot clock ran down, we knew the game was ours. After the buzzer, Nolan Richardson came up the aisle shaking hands with any Blazer he could find.
My little group partied all day in Columbus that Saturday. A big college town of course has lots of bars and clubs. Only downer was watching Bammer beat Stanford.
Scene after the UK win was pandemonium in our small knot of fans that were there. Hugs, high fives, and tears of joy. I'll always remember seeing a guy dressed in Cinci gear standing up on a the base of a light pole outside the arena, waving a big UAB flag. Where did he get it? It was surreal.

I guess its easier to say that than admit you can't name all the blazers in the pic.

I cant believe I did not recognize Mo. Hard to miss.
And I think I see Archie Johnson but nobody mentioned him. Or is that someone else?
Curious why it was not publicized and open to the public too.
I'm not thrilled with KCs look at all.
Also wonder who the top scorers were.
Mo has seats courtlevel next to UAB bench...Shouldn't be hard to miss since he has been at every home game this year

I've never seen him from the video feeds. That's great. We don't get many former Blazers at the games. I used to see Igor a lot but he is hard to miss. And Ball back when he was working in academics.
Does Mo live in Bham now?

RE: Name the former Blazers
My prior question still stands.
Can anyone name all the players left to right?
Some of the names mentioned have helped but I'm still not recognizing some of the guys.
Surprised Carter Long did not come play. Really, there are a lot of former players who did not show that are probably still in the area.

Yes he does. I talked to him in the beer line at a FB game. He's partners in or running an athletics training academy.

I have seen Mo and his family at several games this year, including both games this week.

He is in a Bham now. He's at a lot of the UAB games. I've also seen him several times at Samford, supporting Sidney Ball.
