Conner Frankamp is Wichita's all-time leading scorer in HS. That's beating out a lot of NBA players over the years.

Nobody has ever seen HS Conner while he is in college. Only flashes of the past. But if you are playing against him when he turns back into old Conner, you're probably going to be toast.

Me too. Because that means he is scoring a lot. Otherwise he would be sitting on the bench.

Lmao. I'm sure Connor Frankamp would be routinely dropping 30 a game against Taft, Withrow and Woodward in Cincinnati.

Connor who? Isn’t he the guy who was recruited over? His playing time is receding faster than his hairline.

Yeah... I'm not worried about WSU at all until after the UH game. I'll be at the one out in Wichita.

These seven games to close the season will say a lot about the team. I wouldn't have it any other way...

So if/when the Shackers lose it will be because they didn't play their "normal" game. I suppose their normal game would be against an Evansville or a Drake.

I'm beginning to understand what happened with the Shockers this year based on continued feedback from the team. We simply didn't take our opponents seriously at times. This absolutely happened against Houston and Tulsa for obvious reasons. The obvious reasons being that we've prison raped Tulsa every time we've played them since anybody can remember; and right before the Screwston debacle, we had beaten them by 75 in Wichita. Nobody on the Shocker team was going to get up for those road games even with the coach's repeated warnings. You might even label them as trap games.

SMU is just one of those times where you fall victim to the Super Bowl effect. SMU wasn't going to lose that night even if it cost them their lives. We played fairly well. SMU's (and Shake's) true potency was on display for all to see after their victory though. Hint: I don't think Shake has made a shot since...

The game at Temple is a head-scratcher for many reasons. That should have been an easy double-digit victory. I can only assume that the Shockers looked at their record and figured them to be about as good as it indicated. We relaxed, Temple played a little above their norm... we lose. We looked so careless in that game though. The lack of focus and unforced turnovers was alarming.

If we play 40 minutes of purposeful basketball and blow Temple out at home, I think the Shockers will give the full treatment down in The City of Weird Chili. If the Shockers "Play Angry", I like our chances. I've seen a tiny bit of Cincy bball this year (mostly preseason) and read some of the post-game discussion. Let me say that I'm not impressed. This league is VERY weak and Cincy has escaped several times against suspect teams. Now they go into SMU with a team that has been running ads in the local paper looking for roster help. Everything is aligning for UC to win the conference (including WSU's bedwetting).

We've shown a mental weakness this year I've not seen in a very long time. Perhaps we've moved beyond it. Perhaps we haven't. If this roster plays like it can - like it has in the past with THE EXACT SAME PLAYERS, we have more than enough firepower to leave Queen City with a win. Our offense is vastly superior, our defense is comparable when the players commit to employing it.

Naw, it's standard response to shockers when we're in the same conference. Enjoy the anomaly that is this year, next year you'll be looking up at us in the standings like you usually are.

Just a word of friendly advice from one AAC member to another: There are a couple Shocker Crew "historians" that absolutely make a message board living off opponents' high emotion - low probability statements, i.e., talking out of one's a$$.

The summary judgment you just made regarding our two programs is undoubtedly being labeled and stored for future use as we speak. Next you'll likely receive an offer from someone to put a little money behind your prediction. I would STRONGLY recommend you politely decline. But... if you must take the bet, do NOT welsh on it. I've seen this all play out before and it's a disaster, believe me.

Just to clear things up... I believe Rath was talking about Cronin, not Frankamp.

Oops.

You know who doesn't need excuses?

Winners.

As a Tulsa fan I've got to believe you gleaned that little gem out of a book somewhere?

Naw, it's standard response to shockers when we're in the same conference. Enjoy the anomaly that is this year, next year you'll be looking up at us in the standings like you usually are.

Your smack is extremely weak.

This is going to be such a great game. Cincinnati is just dominating teams. The Bearcats were up by 40 against SMU. It wasn't even close.

Wichita State will know quickly how well their team competes nationally after playing the Bearcats.

This should happen like yesterday. I think what the Shockers need to get them right in the mind again is to play against an opponent that they respect. This will be the first time all year they play against someone ranked higher than themselves (as long as there is no pooping of the panties before 2/18).

The Shockers will be able to play in their own Super Bowl for once instead of being everybody else's. I can't wait to see if they'll rise to the challenge like they always seem to do.

Play Angry Mother *******!

Wishful thinking. Cincy is everyone's super bowl

That’s why I’ve always been confused about all this Patriot dynasty talk. Per UC fan, Xavier has won the Super Bowl 13 times since 2000. Patriots got nothing on that...

Is the team that played Cincy still considered SMU? Lots of injuries to their best players to consider that game at all relevant.

WSU lost to SMU, Houston, and Temple. Three teams Cincy has utterly destroyed. It’s Fantasy Island to think WSU has a team or talent capable of beating Cincy.
