Alabama plays the Citadel
Auburn plays Alabama State and Liberty
Clemson plays Furman
Rice plays Prairie View
FWIW Prairie View was a late add as we’re allowed to play 13 games since we play Hawaii.
I agree it’s stupid to criticize other teams for playing FCS schools though. Tough to get 6 home games as a G5 if you’re not playing an FCS school.

Near impossible, unless you schedule a home-and-home. And, even then, a P5 team may want a home-and-home- and-home deal with two of the three games being played in their arena.

I guess ODU goes 5-7 again.
6-6 if we're lucky and 4-8 if we aren't

Best Case 9-3
Worst Case 7-5
Anything less would be just gosh awful.
18 starters coming back. Good pick up at QB (Upgrade in my opinion). We have FAU and MT at home and WKU early in the season.

How Do You See Your Football Team Finishing In 2018
UAB should be pretty decent next year I think. New OC (...well, our OC from 2014). A lot of players returning. I'm thinking 6-6 to 9-3 depending on how things go.
We have a favorable west division schedule this year with getting USM, UNT, and UTSA at home so here's the complete homer in me:
Savannah State - Win
@Coastal Carolina - Win
Tulane - Win
Charlotte - Win (revenge game)
@LT - Loss
@Rice - Win
North Texas - Win
@UTEP - Win
UTSA - Win
USM - Win
@Texas A&M - Loss
@MTSU - Loss
9-3
The year after next will be the scary year where we lose a lot of players IIRC.

I forgot about Prairie View ; then 5-8 to 6-7. Embarrassing we are playing Prairie View but they do have a great band. If Conf USA wants to gain respect they have to play a more challenging schedule even if it means only 5 home games. Home games: jsu, monroe, rice, utsa marshall and tech. I think we win all of those at home.
Road Auburn is a loss, appy, char and utep are wins.
i think we win one of nt or uab on the road.
We usually have one accident in the games you think are wins. so 9-3 or 8-4

If CUSA wants to gain respect, we have to win the OOC games we already schedule. No point in scheduling 3 cupcake games unless you're strapped for cash. Just because you play a tougher schedule doesn't mean you inherently gain respect if you can't win any games.

I think we will go 3-1 in our non-conference games. We could go down to Tech, Marshall and UNT. We should finish between 8-4 or 7-5.

Right on. CUSA teams need to not lose to any FCS schools. Beat all MAC and Belt schools and win majority of MWC and AAC games. That plus grab some p5 wins (esp against low/mid level teams). Tech has done no favors losing to SC, Ark, Kansas, and K State by FG or less since joining CUSA. (K State may have been more but was in OT)

K-State triple OT, Arkansas 1 point, South Carolina 1 point.
We gotta break through eventually.

Is it just me or does it look like the West might have 4 (or 5?) teams fighting it out for the title?

RE: How Do You See Your Football Team Finishing In 2018
Charlotte returns most of a 1-11 team. The bright spot is that this season’s redshirt freshman is th best recruiting class we’ve had. We should be improved everywhere, because it can’t get any worse, right? However, we have no decent starting QB and the backups are barely FCS level.
Worst case is a win over Fordham followed by 11 losses.
Realistic scenario is beating Fordham, then sneaking up and stealing a couple of wins to go 3-9. ODU, Western, UMass, App, and even FIU (2 losses in two years by 2 points) could be victims. I don’t expect to compete against UT, FAU, Middle, USM, UAB or Marshall.
In the absolute worst case, we steal three or four wins, go 4-8 or 5-7 and the new AD thinks we should give Lambert another year.
It’s going to be a strange year. I want us to win home games, I don’t want us to get beaten up to badly, I want to see improvement all over the field.
I do not want us to win too much.
