I can see him scheduling down too. If that's even possible.
We are currently tied for 7th which is 3 spots below what I considered our worst case scenario. I thought we would be 2nd with a chance at first but no worse than 4th. And some call me "negative".
If we rewind a couple of years ago, we were coming off our best year in a long time, we had 3 all conference players. It was reasonable to want to keep the players and whenever you change head coaches you usually lose players.
So I can understand why he got the job. And there were no names mentioned that we clearly better choices.
Scarbo was trying to force feed the guy from Auburn who is facing felony charge. That was just absurd to even consider him and he should not have even gotten an interview.
I guess we could have hired CB McGrath but I wasn't overly thrilled with the Haase era. He had a good couple of weeks after a decent year and a good year out of 4.
But, Hindsight is 20/20.
Andy Kennedy may be looking for a job around the same time Ehsan is let go in 2 more years. (assuming he does not show great improvement the next 2 years) Not sure how I would feel about that. I like Andy but he would be a retread.
Steve Forbes at East Tennessee State would have been a MUCH better hire, and he was interested in the job!

I never expected us to be so poor this year. I was completely willing to write off last year due to the coaching change and the loss of Norton. There's no excuse for our play this year with the talent and experience we have on our roster. Unless we go on a miracle run and make the tournament this year has to be considered a total failure and fat below the expectations of even some of our more pessimistic fans.

Are people really trying to rationalize losing at home to UTSA and North Texas?

I AM NOT in favor of firing Ehsan, however, someone needs to hold his feet to the fire and force him to schedule better. GO ON THE ROAD if it takes that... We had 2 road games. There are many P5 schools who had just as many or more road games as UAB in non-conference.
15-10 isn't great as is, but when you consider the absymal strength of schedule it's even worse.
You're spot on regarding scheduling. Schedule did zero to prepare us for conference and now we're losing to UTSA and North Texas at home.

Except for the games we won, we are 0-10. This is the dumbest argument ever.

This is unacceptable. It's up to Rob and the team to fix this. I hope they get things figured out. I show up and do my part. We can't win every game but we are just not very good and with our roster we should be.
I'm not on the ledge. I made the life support comment and I stand by it. There was no life in the program or in the building last night.

Nope, not fine, but I'm willing to be patient with a new coach.

Two years in a row the injury bug has bitten the crap out of this team. Coach overadjusted last recruiting season and added too many guards. Now we are thin in the paint. New guys are exactly filling it up. Old guys aren't exactly filling it up, outside Cokley.
The coach can't shoot the buckets for them. But you and a few others are going to beat this dead horse until waffle house wants to serve it.
I didn't know that Auburn, Memphis, Kansas and St. Mary's are in the pee wee league ? When did that happen ? Oh well it does give you another point to b*tch about something else, so I'll let it go.
Do you make the rest of your life this miserable ? You may need counseling.

He had a SHOW CAUSE so it was a risky hire. And I don't recall him being mentioned. He has done a great job in his time at ETSU and this year was his best. He lost a ton and the team improved. He won't be at ETSU next year.

I don't think the plan was to have 2 open scholarships. But, with 2 returning starters it was hard to get bigs to consider us last year.
Next year, playing time is available so we should be able to get some decent late bigs. I don't expect the kid from Chicago to be an impact player for at least a few years. Hopefully, Jude is right away. He has the size.

That's funny, but true.
As experienced as this team is, it seems like our "starters" would know that the first ten offensive possessions of the game are the most important possessions of the game. Last night, UAB's first twelve offensive possessions netted ZERO POINTS. Seven minutes of ZILCH! Actually it was 5 possessions of TURNOVERs, 6 possessions of MISSED THREE POINTERS, and one possession of a missed jump shot. In the mean time, North Texas scored 12 points in their first 12 possessions.
That has to be a record for the record books.
Our team just took up where they left off from the previous game's final four minutes of the game, which netted 5 UAB points, and also consisted of mostly missed threes and turnovers.
THE PROBLEM is all between their ears(brain work), gentlemen. It has nothing to do with talent level. They are just not using their heads.
The best solution for them to break cold streaks like that is for them to either work the ball into the paint, or drive to the basket.

Definitely looked like they had dead legs in first half....
This is the perfect example of why Ehsan is not a very good basketball coach .. running "boot camp" like practices the 2nd week of February .. This is the time of the season you need to do everything you can to keep the team fresh .. Bryant looks as if he has hit the wall the last couple of games .. Unless things turn around, it looks like a very short stay in Frisco in March.
Boot Camp? Ehsan needs to sit himself and his staff and the team down and get on the same page. They are not going to win any games by going through cold streaks riddled with turnovers and missed three point shots. They are not using their "HEADS", coach's or team. It's a no brainer.
