Owls down 17-12 in the 1st quarter.

The good news is Olivia Ogwumike is back on the court!

Still a little off on the offensive side of the ball. Down 18-12 at the end of the 1st.

Yes, but she seems very rusty. Hard to be in form after such a long layoff. LT pulling away

Appears that Erica was the only Owl ready to play. Hopefully, things change in the 2nd half.

Inauspicious start to the second half.

Turnovers are killing us. 15 through 3 quarters. Down by 10 again. Ugh.

What in the world is up with Nicole? 2 points, 0 boards, 2 TOs in 17 minutes.

RE: Rice women at Louisiana Tech
La Tech 19 assists, 10 turnovers
Rice 10 assists, 18 turnovers

That's the game in a nutshell.

Just a terrible game as a whole. One of those nights where maybe 1 or 2 players are playable. Defense was pretty bad but we're just stagnant on offense. PGs aren't making smart decisions. Iademarco was really bad. Olivia probably gets a pass considering it's her first game in a while. Gotta recover and figure it out by Saturday.

We fall to 1 game back of WKU & UAB with the loss. But we still control our destiny as, conveniently, those are our next two opponents!

A beatdown by the #192 RPI team is going to hurt the Owls in that metric.

Bad loss but anything is possible on the road. We will see if they can bounce back against WKU.

Southern Miss exposed Rice's offensive weakness by playing off our Chrisman--- essentially daring her to shoot an open 15 footer, which she turned down, resulting in a clogged middle. At La Tech, Olivia ,under the same situation, pivoted to face the basket, but, for some reason, ended too far away--- almost at the three point line, from where it is very difficult to make an interior pass or a long two pointer.

I am sure that Langley will make the necessary adjustments in practice and freshman Chrisman will develop that shot.

If you could see pregame warmups, you'd see Chrisman pop shot after shot from the foul line area. During the game she never turns into the single coverage to take the same shot. Can't understand why she doesn't take what's given her.

The holes we have at times in our lineup this year will be gone by next year. It may be wishful thinking to think we are ready for the NCAA's this season. It still may happen but the opponents next year will have a very difficult time defending us.

Plus the 50+ points La Tech scored inside the arc won't be there with Mulkey.
