NIUs coach barks during our free throws and plays D on our guys in the corner... What a child. Give him a frickin T for being out of the box for good sakes.

And now we’re losing. Blew a 12-point halftime lead. I’ve given up trying to understand this team.

57-58 NIU with 8:20 left... No wonder we have only 3,400 here...we play way better on the road.

Non-Rivalry Week 2.0
Wow. Gutsy win. As usual a couple of guys have career nights vs us, but we figured out a way to win when navi and fletcher didn't have great games. Jackson bailed us out on this one with the big three and sinking those two free throws. Knapke bailed us out with a three pointer late in the game.

Non-Rivalry Week 2.0
Miraculous win over a garbage team. First time we’ve beaten niu at home in 4 years.

Awful second half on both sides of the ball.

Huge plays by Marreon down the stretch!

Sanford with 22, Fletcher with 20, Knapke with 14, and Marreon with 13.

The Rockets have matched their overall and conference win totals from last season. Go Rockets!

Yucky game
I'll take the W.
Sanford could score 30 a night if he plays in the first half like he does in every second half.

He had a pretty good first half, too, given his limited minutes. We cannot stop quick guards. Wilder, everybody wearing a Buffalo shirt and now German just blow by Sanford or Jackson like they’re standing still, which they usually are. Tonight we could afford to roll a Knapke over because no one playing the post for NIU was an inside threat, but apart from altering a couple shots that was ineffective. We’ll run up against, at least, one of these guys in the tournament and we better figure out a way to stay in front.

Adway provided some nice attitude tonight against some big bodied Huskies. Lesson learned from the BS game (I was going to add the U but felt a simple BS described it more accurately)?

If they don’t tee up Roos from BG they aren’t teein’ up anybody. Their big guy got a one of the dumbest Ts ever though, after he gets away with shoving Knapke with the clock stopped he couldn’t shut up. Those were some nice points for us.

Looks like teams that beat us this year are a combined 98-54, with only Cornell having a losing record. Not terrible.

RE: Non-Rivalry Week 2.0
well, it was sort of a mix of us not guarding well and them getting confident and playing well. NIU has some holes in their roster but they do have a good guard who is quick with the dribble and we struggle against those guys. Not sure what the coaches were going for but we never seemed to adjust to his drives. And Navigato is simply a mediocre on ball defender. He does a lot of things pretty well on the court but he is gonna struggle against quicker forwards who can score. Maybe, someone has realized by now that Bradley is left handed and 9 times out of 10 fakes right to get back to his strong hand for the shot. Or, we could continue to give him his left in hopes that one of these games he actually goes right - where we are guarding him.

On a positive note, Sanford was great (minus the two missed clutch free throws). Gordon was solid again and Adway played with energy. Good to see Fletcher not force it when things weren't going well. Strange game for M jackson. He was bad on defense. Clumsy at times on offense but clutch shooting the ball.

Miami game should be a good test. Young team with some athletic big perimeter players that can match up pretty well with Fletcher and Sanford and Navigato. Plus, they have a good little guard who can attack the rim and create plays (mostly a passer). So, t=some of our weaknesses might show up. We need to work the inside game better and take advantage of their limits inside.
