We played well vs MTSU
We played well insofar as passing, moving, and defense, but 5-25 from 3 while getting chewed up on the boards isn't going to cut it.

Better that 5-25 than, y'know, the other 5-25 associated with ODU men's basketball.

Randy was the leader in rebounds. Guy finds a way to contribute when his shot isn't falling. What a transformation.

What?? According to everyone they played multiple games per day in their AAU circuits. All of you saying depth doesn't matter, stop please. JJ just told you it's a problem.
One reason he's thrown Godwin in there I'd wager on top of his shooting ability

They like Godwin in the 1-3-1 due to his length and quickness. I dont think they are very comfortable with him in man yet. Notice they play a lot of zone when he comes in.

I'll take that. Not everyone is going to shoot lights out every game. There's other things to be done that can contribute to a win

He was getting torched in man in the first half. Jeff will use him when we go zone but I wouldn’t expect to see him in many man defensive situations going forward. Id wager his ability at the top of the zone is what has seemingly moved him ahead of Hueitt in the rotation right now.

I agree that the team is better off playing zone when Godwin is in the game. That means we have to play more zone. However, that is not the reason he has moved ahead of Hueitt.

Maybe if he had dipped into the bench a little before the 23rd game of the season..

Well good win tonight! If you didn't take a look around at the pathetic showing of fans at southern Miss and add in the pathetic online coverage. How would you ever think you would build a 25 or 30 thousand stadium. This conference sucks but I do think it's more than that. Look around at the games you do go to

It’s not the reason. Get ready folks. We may want to delete this board in a couple months.

RE: ODU @ Southern Miss
I've read multiple posters call this a "good win".

I feel like I'm taking f'ing crazy pills.

How is sweating out a 200+ rpi win against a team with ZERO victories over teams in the top TWO F'ING HUNDRED of the rpi a "good win" now?

You guys and your hyperbole are absolutely absurd. They haven't beaten a team in the top half of college basketball the entire season and now, because we beat them, they are a good win.

Is this how low we've sunk as a program? That a win against a garbage 8-12, 200+ rpi and 0 top 200 victory team is now celebrated like a resume building win?

Jesus I miss Blaine Taylor (yeah, that's how garbage this program has become).

We played pretty bad most of the game, but rallied to win... against a team undefeated at home. I'll take it. Its way better than a loss.
