Pastner actually burned it down. Tubby has done nothing to build it back up.
Do we really still have posters saying dumb stuff like this?

That is the key...When the only guy they are afraid of hitting a 3 is the one driving everyone else can stay in the paint...So you now have 5 guys close to the paint when he drives...Even if he beats his man he has so many more obstacles to overcome and essentially no one to bail him out at the 3 point line.

Absolutely no disagreement.
I feel this in no way reflects on Martin's effort or game.

People are blaming Martin for not stepping up.. and yet it was Tubby who did not devise any plan to deal with this easily predictable scenario.
If I were Martin, I'd be cramming courses in as fast as possible to grad early.
He can't do it all against good teams. He is one person. Good teams can stop 1 person. Jamal tossed up airballs. Thornton hit a few threes. We were 2 of some number from 3 last night..

He was set up for it. The only guy who could do anything took the team on his back in every game he could. He even tried to get other players involved at times.
Bottom line. A team in this conference has to have more than just ONE very good player, especially when it comes up against a team with FIVE very good to excellent players on the floor at all times. And WSU wasn't playing their best.
I'm surprised we only lost by 20. Some of the other guys stepped up and WSU seemed to be clanking a few too many threes.

I wonder how good we would be this year if we had Dedric in the post and Markel on the wing to compliment Martin's growth as the primary facilitator. But we'll never know due to pride... Has to do it 'his way' instead of taking the path that requires him to get a little help.

No, I would say that most of the team wasn't happy at all with all of the dribbling he would do deep into the shot clock. This year would be a bit of a different story though. Martin's outside shot has improved to the point that when Dedric had the ball inside, they wouldn't be able to double team him so quickly.
Many of Martin's shots are step back 3's or contested. Everyone knows that him and Davenport are our only weapons. If they had to worry about Dedric (which clearly they would), it would have opened things up for everyone else, especially Martin.

"His relationship with KJ and Dedric Lawson may have some influence as all 3 have known each other for 9 years plus. Could this and other factors lead him into to choosing his hometown team? I think we will all know soon but best believe, if you get Martin, he’s not just some player from the area to give a scholarship too, he’s more than deserving and would be a steal for the Tiger program to get a guard of this caliber. Jeremiah would have been the Tigers best guard this year as a high school senior. His play will be infectious to his teammates and he would become a crowd favorite of the fans of Memphis. Memphis fans, if you get Martin, you will be glad you did."
